It may not actually. While they do not come out and say it, until they receive all of the required documentations (CHL100 form, and any other documents necessary to complete the full packet of information), they most likely do not start the application screening.

- really does not matter, you can take the class in the morning, and do the online application after you pass the course.
Personally, I would not pay the DPS until I knew I passed my class and learned what is taught. I would hate to find out either I failed the class, or that something I learned in the class tells me that I will not be able to get my license, and therefore I also lose my non-refundable $140 state fee

Re: Lubbock CHL Instructors - Any recommendations?

"They" was the DPS website, once she paid online, it printed off her task list (whatever it is called) and on it showed L-1 for prints and as stated, the DPS site connected her directly to the scheduling site of L-1.
As far as the prints, the same Sheriff that did mine, did hers, and mine were valid, so hers should very well have been as well.

This is neither here nor there, if March is the date, thats good enough for me

while I am not questioning you on this, when my wife got her CHL in June, they told her she had to do L1, even though we already had the ink copies..

olkev wrote:Pardon my ignorance but could you give me some more details regarding what "L-1" is?
Texas DPS is now only accepting electronic fingerprints, and a company called L-1 / FAST is doing all of the prints in Texas for this service.

If you do your application to DPS online, once you pay, it will 'pass you over' to L-1 /FAST to schedule your fingerprints, so it will show you all of the various locations and the times available.
