Here it is from the State of Texas. http://tinyurl.com/qwnag

Every loading of the gun is 5 rounds with two exceptions. At three yards it says:
(B) ten rounds will be fired "Two Shot Exercise"; three seconds allowed for each two shots;

That is broken into two loadings one of four, and one of 6.
hope this helps..
Yes, that helps a lot. I also went to the site you posted and got the actual instructions. That helped a bunch!!

Is there a section that tells about scoring? Are you shooting at sillouettes or bullseyes?

Sorry for so many questions. I take the class next Saturday and am getting some butterflies!

It's a sillouette, and there is no reason to worry. My daughter was terrified of the range portion of the class and she's been to gunsite for their 250 class... she shot a 233 and was third best in the class. The best shooter had never been to a gun class and shot a 249 that day. He had never shot that gun before and even had one jam on him, that's the one that took away his perfect score... that shooter was me.

at one of my classes there was this elderly lady who required a walker, she qualified. :fire

The latter. Run the intro part of the class including the handgun training. Then shoot at 3 yards. Go back to class for the rest of the morning session, then shoot the 7 yards right before the lunch break. Then shoot the 15 yards in the middle of the afternoon session. This will probably work if you have enough lanes and ranger officers to allow everyone to shoot together. If you have a large class and have to split up the shooting sessions, then it may take too much time. I don't know if that will have any negative effect on learning but it sure will break up the monotony.
For us, that would be a logistical nightmare.
I'm not an instructor, but I could see how that could be true.
You'd have to keep the targets from becomming "soiled" inbetween sessions.

No, the better thing would be to take a group (assuming you're taking your class AT a range) of 5 or so during the first break, let them shoot all of their 50 rounds.

Do the next class session, take a different group of 5 at the next break, and they do their 50.

At lunch do 5 more--of course they do all of their 50.

Mid afternoon do 5 more, ditto on the 50.

and so on and so forth...

But each group does their entire 50 round qual. at one time, so you won't have to keep the targets from becomming 'soiled.'

I've been to a total of three CHL classes now, all at the same place.

In all three of them photo's, fingerprints, and document review was Standard Operating Procedure as well as the "loan" of a semi-automatic so that you would not be strapped with a revolver as your only option.

This class was held in a classroom at a gun store / range so you walked out of the class and went directly to the counter to get your 'gratis' ammo / handgun, target and eyes/ears if necessary and on to the range you went.

While you were shooting on the range other instructors were reviewing each packet to make sure that all was in order.

Targets were brought back to the counter and graded. The grades were then placed on the (Pass/Fail--everyone passed) certificates and we took our packets home to mail.

I have nothing to compain about, the instructors were great, they had enough breaks to keep you comfortable, they kept reign on the 'smart-mouthed-one's' that appeared.
