E Marquez, I'm about 45 min away from you in Temple. If you decide to tackle the same project, I'd be happy to come over and help out now that I vaguely know what I'm doing. You're in charge of the hammer and punches though....managed not to scratch up my CZ, but sure as heck don't want to mess up and scratch up someone elses!
Thank you for the offer, the issue will be.... Mines bigger...... :biggrinjester: err, well different in any case. or I think it is. The gun i want to work on is a Pre B ...Ive read the trigger assembly install is not for the faint of heart to get out or back in.... I'll do some more research and if it's something I want to try I'll give a yell.

Need to find a trustworthy smith as a back up..one that accepts a box of parts to be reassembled...

Re: CZ 75

Yes it is a mag brake issue, nothing to do with the mag itself.
It is a spring steel "brake" that can be massaged to eliminate the issue or replaced/ modified to remove the function.

Andy heck of an offer, so thank you.

What I have planned is a complete disassembly, then have the frame and slide refinished. While I trust the job to be done (coating) to any number of local shops... I do not have confidence in thier ability to strip and successfully reinstall the components. the DA/SA trigger group on a CZ75 Pre B is known to be a bit tricky.

While I'm pretty confident I can do the work,, with the likely several weeks between disassembly and reassembly Im considering farming out that part... Not yet decided.

More thinking on this one,,,before I commit to putting roll pin punch and brass hammer to use.

I bought my 1st CZ 75B about 12 years ago and sold my Glock a few days later.
I bought my first CZ75 in 1986... Look >>>> way.. its in the Icon....Still have it... Franconia Special purchased in Germany and imported by me Then two others followed me home ... would buy a forth if a deal came by :cheers2:

NordicTexan wrote:A co worker of mine has been looking for a full sized 9mm pistol and had run across several nice reviews of the CZ 75. It sounded like there was some claims of good accuracy and performance. I haven't run across this one. Does any one have any real experience with the CZ 75 and why does it get such good reviews?

Thanks
I have three.
The first was a MDL 9010 market at the time (1985) in Germany as a Frankonia Combat Competition special. It has a very precise overtravel adj trigger, adj sights, extended mag release, opened and beveled mag well opening, and a few other things. I have shot more than 15,000 recorded rounds through it and no failures not attributed to intentional dirty abuse.
I also have a CZ75B and a CZ75 P-01 all shoot very well for me and my wife and son.

Other than being a heavy gun I would feel confident in carrying any of them as a SD weapon, knowing that they would go bang every time I squeezed the trigger and they will shoot as well as most humans can manage in a SD event.
