Re: What is your daily/weekly/bi-monthly/etc. workout?

Although I'm over 40, I'm a competitive powerlifter.

I train 3 days a week. Tuesday = Squats and accessories, Friday = Bench and accessories, Sunday = deadlifts and accessories.

Re: A Leter to my Local School Superintendent

It may be worthy of inclusion if your local community enjoys this particular pre-existing facility: I am an adjunct instructor for a local community college. This very college also happens to house the area's TCLEOSE-certified police academy, complete with firearms training resources. The burden of ...

Re: Ever truely "made" someone?

I was sitting in a chair at an auction once and another attendee walked past, directly in front of me, and I could very clearly see the imprint of a Beretta 92FS that was straining very hard against the thin leather (or maybe vinyl) of his "fanny pack". The pack was obviously undersized fo...

Re: Fixed blade knife EDC

I EDC a Cold Steel Safe-Keeper III in-waistband at 9o'clock. It is a "push knife", which means it has a T-shaped handle. Cold Steel makes other models of Safe-Keepers (the I and II) as well as the Safe-Maker line. I opted for the Safe-Keeper III because it is single-edged. Some of the pict...

Re: Body Armor

While I have no idea if this is true, I have read that the fibers inside a bullet-resistant garment can degrade and separate due to movement. For example, if an officer is wearing the vest all day, the vest is rubbing against the car seat, twisting during entry/exit of the vehicle, moving around a b...

Re: AK Question

If you are talking about the lacquer finish, I've never experienced any issues with it. Almost all AK rounds (and many other types) have the same lacquer finish (most Mosin rounds, for example). The only ones off the top of my head I can think of that DON'T have this lacquer are the Silver Bear and ...

Re: AK Question

In the bit of research I did when deciding between the same two calibers, I came to understand that the 5.45 "poison bullet" thing depends on some conditions. The most important is the build specifications of the actual projectile. Some projectiles have a hollow cavity under the nose of th...

Misunderstanding different signs

I was leaving a restaurant today at lunch. The gentleman ahead of me in line for the cashier engaged her with this conversation: Man: See that sign right there? (indicating the blue TABC sign behind her) Cashier: Yes Man: That sign is illegal. It has to be in English and in Spanish. I interrupted at...

Re: Priority: 2nd AR15 or AR10

I recently purchased a brand new Arsenal SGL21-73. Couldn't be happier.

I added a Hogue grip (highly recommended) and a VTAC sling. Other than needing to zero the front sight (buy an AK/SKS sight tool if you don't already have one), it was good to go.

Re: Riots in London

Can the shop owner sue the goverment for failure to defend their properties? Or, who is going to pay for the damages and lost live-long family business? That's a VERY interesting question. I have no idea how it works overseas, but I'm pretty sure all of my various insurance policies specifically ex...
