Re: TSA Threatens to Shut Down All Texas Air Travel
Well looks like the bill has support both in the house and senate again. Looks like it might make it into special session after all.

It appears now that Gov. Perry's office is taking a public opinion poll on whether or not to push ahead. If you are a Texas resident and support this bill, call (512) 463-2000 NOW and tell them you are SUPPORT HB 1937.
Then please pass this on to all of your Texas friends.

Love it. I wonder if this could be made into a sticker? I would post it dead center on my flight bag.Scott in Houston wrote:I just created this... new battle flag for Texas?

Re: TSA Threatens to Shut Down All Texas Air Travel
This has me so upset that our Senators backed down. The Federal Government is out of control. I seriously doubt the Feds would have shut down air travel. Can you imagine? There are 3 major airlines that have large domiciles in Texas. Continental, American, and Southwest. By not allowing air travel to Texas the political fall out would have been huge! Houston alone is a very large central/ south American gateway. I don't see them shutting down air travel. This was just a heavy handed attempt by the Feds to get their way and it is working!
If our politicians will not stand to defend our constitution then it is up to us. DO NOT FLY!!! Don't do it. Period. I know some of you must for work but I would seriously consider refusing. My fellow airline pilots won our fight for now but I do not completely feel safe from the TSA. Rules can change overnight. The only reason we are exempt is because a couple of pilots stood up and said "No way ain't gonna happen". Even if it meant loosing our Job. One pilot I know was out for a few months on unpaid LOA because he dared to say no to the TSA. He has six Kids and was the only source of income for his family but I believe completely that it was his actions and initial act of disobedience that allowed us to bypass the sexual assault theater. Once the media got a hold of his story it put quite a bit of bad publicity on the TSA. Then more pilots started standing up and TSA caved to us finally. The general public has the same power.
SO i wish to see the terminals empty until our constitutional rights are restored at our airports. Then the Airlines would start demanding the TSA back down because money talks in this country. I don't hold high hopes though as all my flights have been full lately.
