We live out in the country, so its more of a pain for solicitors to walk between our houses.
My one and only personal dog is nice (and a coward), but my neighbors on both sides have an over-abundance of these large, redneck dogs. I'm not personally afraid of them; they know me and usually just want me to give them a cookie or make a fuss over them, but they're intimidating to visitors and pizza delivery people alike.
For security purposes, I'm glad they're around, as annoying as they can be sometime.
