Re: If someone is going to join the military what branch and
If you want a sense of what the miltiary is about, take the time to visit a VA hospital and talk with some veterans. Better yet, go to Walter Reed or even a National cemetary such as Arlington. Volunteer for a Wounded Warrior project. You will quickly realize all gave some and some gave all and many...

Re: Signature line rule -- Things are changing!
In my case, I haven't been active for a bit so I was totally unaware of the issue. An email to my address would probably have caught my attention to the matter. In fact, it brings to mind a problem I had getting logged back on. I lost/forgot my Login ID. There is NO WAY to find out your Login ID. Th...

Re: More gun regulations approved by California Senate
Chuck, I'll just end my part of this communication with a famous quote for you to consider.
'Tis better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt. Abraham Lincoln -16th US President.

Re: More gun regulations approved by California Senate
In that case Chuck, I don't need to provide a history lesson above and beyond your Junior High research. You obviously know the "founding father of Texas", Stephen F Austin, was born in Virginia, raised in Missouri and lived in Arkansas prior to managing the colonization of Texas. You must...

Re: More gun regulations approved by California Senate
Perhaps Texans wanting that wall may be better served to learn of their own state history before attempting to keep other "settlers" from entering the state.

Re: More gun regulations approved by California Senate
I was born and raised in Illinois. I left in 1983 when I joined the AF and have only returned to visit. When I retired from the CA ANG, I immediately moved out of CA and came to Texas. I happen to know a lot of good conservative folks that have moved from Ca to Tx for many reasons. While I don't tak...

Re: First Time Carrying In Public
Today was my first time carrying. I put on a t-shirt with my shoulder harness & Berretta 9mm Storm and an regular button up over it. I practiced enough that I believe I can discreetly unbutton my shirt and pull fairly quickly if needed. It was cold so I even had a jacket as well. Walked around F...

Re: DD-214
I was actually separated from the California Air National Guard to the Retired Reserves so I didn't get a "DD-214". Instead I received a NGB Form 22 showing my separation under honorable conditions. I sent a copy of the document in my CHL package and they sent a letter I didn't supply the ...

Re: December 2009 Applications
I'm sure that Springfield EMP is a nice handgun but it looks pricey from what I've seen so far and probably hard to get just yet.

Re: December 2009 Applications
Thanks for the suggestions USA1 & Joe817, I like all 3 (Springfield, Taurus & Beretta) in a .45. I haven't shot a Taurus but my CHL instructor had one and he also made the recommendation. Off to the other boards for more CHL ideas and discussions. I'm no longer waiting. YAY.

Re: December 2009 Applications
Got my CHL today! Bought a Beretta Storm PX4 9mm and absolutely love it! Still it seems too large to carry 24/7 and somewhat uncomfortable IWB in any position. The only comfortable wear seems to be in a shoulder harness under a buttonw up shirt or IWB and a jacket. I'm thinking about getting a subco...

Re: December 2009 Applications
Waiting on my plastic now! The only issue was I sent in a copy of my separation to the retired reserves in my package but they wanted a copy of a DD 214 of my discharge. I replied with a letter and a copy of my retire ID card, apparently it sufficed for their documentation.
