Maybe 30 boxes of Remington .22. Back in the Guns, Hunting and Fishing area there were lots of .38 Spcl, Some .38 Spcl P+ and a couple of boxes of .357 defense ammo. Clerk said it arrived just a while before I got there. They still have the one box per caliber limit :grumble :grumble
Academy on I-10 near Bunker Hill had plenty too, but wow, the prices have gone way up. The .223 was $0.51/round!
The same ammo was $0.35/round before the madness. Ugh... :cryin

Because it seems to be coming back, and I have a lot of ammo already, I didn't buy anything.

Re: ammo on sale

I'm still only shopping Walmart because they haven't changed their prices to reflect the current supply/demand issues we see online.

It's become a "treasure hunt" of sorts. I feel like a kid looking for easter eggs every time I go into a walmart.
I'm thankful that I have a significant stash of ammo already, so it's not stress induced shopping. lol

When I was at Walmart recently, another guy was complaining how he can't shoot his new 9mm because he can't find ammo anywhere. I could have sold him 100 rounds for $100 I bet.

Re: ammo on sale

scored 3 boxes of .22lr this morning (325 rounds per box). Walmart had 9 boxes. I could only buy 3. I went back at lunch time to see if I could get more, but they were already sold out.... 3 hours later.

Re: ammo on sale

After creating my own personal stockpile of ammo, I would almost never go shoot without buying the ammo to shoot on the way. In other words, my stockpile doesn't ever get depleted or decrease... only increase.

Now that I can't find ammo, I'm not shooting very much. I am shooting some... but not much at all.

This shortage really has to hurt the ranges' business I would imagine.

Re: ammo on sale

I'm buying .357SIG at Walmarts. I find it and .40 the most often... even more than 22lr.
.357SIG hasn't increased in price. It's still $29/box of 50 (already ouch, but at least no gouging like other calibers).

I just bought 2 boxes from Walmart on I-10 and Taylor this morning.

In Hillsboro, the Walmart had 100 round WWB for $20.97.

I think this Walmart hasn't gotten the memo that prices have gone up at all the others! I bought 4 boxes, and they still had plenty left.

Last week, I grabbed an extra WWB of 9mm for $22. You saved $1.
You are wrong my friend. I saved $4! Read my post again.

That's an excellent deal!! Thanks for letting us know.

It was. It recently came down. The Federal just went up too. It was $9.80 or so per 50, and is now $10.50 or so.

you cannot notice 50-85fps in a bullet ever, even with a chrno which I have an use you Std DIV can be greater then 100fps..Alos Monarch (russin) is steal case..How did you come up with the 50-85fts slower then monarch, it should be published somewere.

PS if you chron it again 50-85 fts slower is nothing.. a differnt gun will make that up or change that... not trying to argue,, its just seems like nothing to make me buy one brand over another.. Monarch 223 at 3.99 per 20.. ya Ill buy that all day long.
My buddy's Chrono was $$$$$ and measures very well. Not sure what the SD was in ft/sec but it was way less than 100.

Also, Monarch makes brass ammo also. The steel is Russian. The Brass is Serbian made by Prvi. It's good quality stuff.
And as I said in previous post it's about the difference between a G19 and G26.

I think Wal Mart Fereral 9mm at 10.50 is much better ammo - cleaner
Not sure if it's cleaner than Monarch. I haven't noticed a difference but the Federal is weaker. It's 50-85 ft/sec slower than the Monarch.
When Academy has Monarch brass for $9.99/50 rounds I buy in bulk.
I don't have a meter to check it, but based on recoil, I suspected the same thing. Maybe they figured out a way to increase FPC with reduced pressures...LOL... but I think it is slower also. BTW.... nice avatar.
We chrono'd it and found those results.
Essentially it's the difference between shooting a G19 and a G26.

Like your avatar too. It's Jimmy Carter all over only worse and he's not a fan of our nation, its foundation, or its success.
Research Anti-Colonialism and you'll find exactly what his motivation is. It's not "liberalism" or even true socialism (although that's plays a role), it's all about the rest of the world catching up to us.
