Then if means, surprise of surprises, that talk radio performers (e.g. Rush Limbaugh, etc) are not the constitutional scholars that they think they are.marksiwel wrote:So say the Supreme Court says its all good, what then?TLE2 wrote:The saddest thing is that this is labeled "heath care" but it's insurance regulation by the feds. Forcing anyone to buy is not a solution, and in my opinion will be struck down by the high court, unless the Obamanation gets to appoint some judges...
Or just elected himself czar.

Re: Healthcare Passes
Well, I just cannot agree with the that line of thinking as I just think it is wrong-headed. I respect your heartfelt opinion and I respectfully agree to disagree.

Healthcare does not equal 1776.sjfcontrol wrote:PSL -- Just wondering, at what point would YOU draw the line? If you're happy with the current situation, just what would it take to reach your limit? Many of us took an Oath when we were young. I'm waiting to see what the Supreme Court does, or for the law to go into effect, whatever comes first, but I don't fault anyone who doesn't wait to fight back against known enemies.
Do you REALLY want that?
The amount of rhetoric is just in overdrive and people fanning the flames via talk radio is just WAY out of control.
Because I am not in favor of civil unrest does not mean I am thrilled with the US government. During the worst of the Bush years I never felt that way.

Re: Healthcare Passes
Agreed. And I want honest ones too. People who had the integrity of Washington (turned down chance to be King of America) are sadly lacking.bizarrenormality wrote:What I want is politicians and public officials who obey the Constitution.
I would love to start by somehow limiting lobbyists from corrupting the politicians.
I just really hope everyone realizes the way to change things is through the voting booth and dont resort to violence over some of this stuff. People did not go running into the night when the Patriot Act came into being, they should not go nuts over health care. I hope people turn their energy into positive change.
And I REALLY hope BOTH parties present to us what they can do for us to make things better, and not just run on half truths and fear. I think we deserve that from them.

Houston winters have made me rather cold sensitive when I go back up North for the holiday. I can so see living in Hawaii, San Diego, Costa Rica....74novaman wrote:Hometown gets snow most years. I must admit, I did not listen to Rush that day!74novaman wrote:Okay, you obviously didn't listen to Rush that day.PSLOwner wrote:Also, has Rush left for Costa Rica yet?
He never said he was MOVING to Costa Rica...he just said he'd travel there for his health care needs.
The wife may start a practice down there, depending on how ridiculous things get for medical professionals in the States.
Depending upon how cold your hometown is in the winter, moving to Costa Rica might be a good deal for many reasons.

Re: Healthcare Passes
The amount of over-reaction to this and shouting down people who have non "RIP CONSTITUTION" opinions are amazing. No one is really able to listen to someone else's opinion without berating them. I respect the opinion of people who are totally against the health care change, disagree with them, but respect their opinion and I will not berate them or insist that they change their minds.marksiwel wrote:*yawn* wake me when the sky falls
Also, why is this thread in a gun-related forum?
