Re: Where can I NOT carry my handgun?

So my parents live up by Lake Texoma.
My understanding is that the lake and most of the property around it is owned/managed by the Corps of Engineers.

Can I not carry around the lake? In boat?

How do I find out more about this one?

Thanks

Search here for USACE, but ...Well, the easiest way to find out (for any body of water in Texas is TPWD..

http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fi ... es/texoma/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Reservoir Controlling Authority
US Army Corps of Engineers
Drawer A
Denison, Texas 75020
(903) 465-4990

So, nope, can't carry there on their land nor in a boat. (Doesn't matter Texas or Oklahoma, you just can't ... the Feds say so)
(Unless a Commander gives you written permission ... and they don't)

Personally, I'd like our TPWD to stop stocking "their" waters with MY money to improve fishing on THEIR lake to bring more tourists income to the USACE.
Put those fish WE paid for and paid to raise in OUR lakes.

(This was a pet peeve of mine, but I resolved to not spend a penny near USACE places. I probably should pull up letters for all the NEW legislators though and modify them to suggest no longer subsidizing the USACE lakes with our money. ;-)

I'm guessing you don't carry a Glock. These places are not a problem for me. OK, its tough to conceal the Glock 26 in a public swimming pool, but getting it a little wet ain't really an issue.
:iagree:
Especially if you spend $10.00 and get Marine/Maritime Spring cups ... though I really am not sure they are needed, except for a snorkler/swimmer/scuba diver's peace of mind, should one want to spend the ten bucks
