I use that logic all the time. I once bought my brother a scope and realized I ordered the wrong one. Did I return the wrong one???? NOPE! So naturally I had a scope in my safe that needed a rifle. And thats the story of how I got my 10/22. Then there's the time I bought a boat load of AK gear without actually owning an AK....Tallinthesaddle wrote:What an excuse to build an AR! I have not heard (tried) that one yet. I can think of " I need a new AR to match my buttstock", "look at my new scope, I plan to use it on an AR to build", "look at that free float handguard I just purchased, I'm going out right now and get a bare lower reciever and start", but the gas tube length reason beats them all! Go for it.
