I've been scrambling working on guns since I got home... I'll have plenty of better pics soon, but here's a few teasers....
AR pistol, only new change is a Midwest T9 rail pulled off of my PSA 14.7" AR. I think it looks pretty wicked now!
S&W M&P15-22, brand new, MOE edition. Added a sling, PA micro dot and AFG. Training/practice rifle.
LMT lower/BCM upper AR. Changes from my previous pics include an ALG QMS trigger, Magpul trigger guard, Haley Strategic Thorntail offset light mount, Inforce WML (HSP edition) and Fortis REV rail. Barrel, Battlecomp and gas block are coming for my PSA AR, and when it's complete it will be essentially identical to this one.
ETA: Also a BCM Gunfighter Mod 0 grip.
New OpTempo Paladin plate carrier that I just finished putting my preliminary setup on.

Re: Pictures of your "Black Guns"
Took my four new ARs to the range yesterday for the first time. I built the second rifle in the second pic about a year and a half ago, and the rest were put together in the last month with pieces I ordered while in Afghanistan. I'm 100% THRILLED with the performance of all of them.
20"
14.7" (pinned A2) and 16"
7.5" pistol
If you want details on any of them, I'm happy to reply

Re: Pictures of your "Black Guns"
A few boxes came in Monday...
My M4gery is almost complete. Just need rail covers and more magazines and I'll be good to go!
Gotta say, I knew the moment I saw the Magpul AFG the first time that it would be perfect for my shooting style. Finally got around to installing one and I'm not disappointed... it's very comfortable.
Also, that VTAC light mount is great. I picked up a Streamlight Polytac LED for the AR and it blows my incandescent Surefire G2 out of the bloody water... the G2 is now mounted on my AK. And the Streamlight is only $38 or thereabouts Durability as a weapon light remains to be seen (for me, I've heard good things though) but I'm loving how bright it is.
It's about time to start working on my eviller black rifle... my AR pistol
EDIT: I've only played with my Magpul MS2 sling for a couple of minutes, but I REALLY, really like it so far.

SCAR 17 is the one I'm really slobbering over, but until it's under $2k (and preferably closer to 1,600) it's out of the question. Even then, it'll take several paychecks to save up for it... unless I'm finally full time by then. I'm tired of working two days a week

Re: Pictures of your "Black Guns"
Thanks! I haven't owned an AR in years, so I figured it was about time. I built the lower from Palmetto State Armory parts, an MOE kit to be exact which came with an MOE stock, trigger guard and grip. That's a 14.5" 1/7 upper with a Midwest Industries T9 rail on top, also from Palmetto. Magpul backup sights, and I just ordered the light mount and a red dot sight from Primary Arms this morningtexanron wrote:Very nice MM!!
Eventually I'll have a sling and a red dot magnifier, and I'll be "done" until I find out what else would improve it. This was a budget rifle so I'm doing it as cheap as I can while still getting everything I want put on it... so far, minus the transfer fees, tax and shipping (and flashlight ) I'm at just under $820 (including the almost-$100 sights). Not half bad for everything it has on it!

Re: Pictures of your "Black Guns"
Gonna pick up a Viking Tactics Surefire G2 mount at the store at some point... right now the flashlight is held on with a leftover scope mount
With my M&P40
With duty belt
With USPc 9MM
With AK
Both in their compact versions...
AR isn't quite finished yet, but I'll post the pics anyway

Re: Pictures of your "Black Guns"
Hahah! If the wood is light enough I bet you could manage it. I used scarlet powdered dye mixed with denatured alcohol for the color, but you might be able to get something lighter. The stripes are burned in with a blowtorch, and then finished with polyurethane. I doubt I'll use poly again, probably some sort of oil next time to get a better finish.AndyC wrote:You're a bad man - now you've got me thinking pink and black for my step-daughter
I'll make sure to post pics when I do another color on my folder. I'm the last person who is going to care what the traditionalists think... it's very liberating...

And now the more I look at that, the more I like it; for some reason it just screams "Wolverines!" to me
A friend saw it and now wants the same finish, but in deep blue
Maybe I should make a purple and gold one and put it in my Pimpmobile
I know this finish isn't for everyone (probably for a very select few, actually!) but I'm liking it more and more. I have a WASR sidefolder now, and since I'm going to replace the handguards with a rail system I think I'll try another color on it. Maybe the blue so I can see if my buddy really wants that color. Traditionalists on the AK forums are probably projectile vomiting right now...

Re: Pictures of your "Black Guns"
Not ALL black, but partly...
I just picked up a WASR10 sidefolder, so I took the furniture off my "traditional" AK and refinished it. Not bad for a first try... I like the look
