Re: 22 conversion or...
This is what I found on the Advantage Arms site: Q: Will your conversion kit fit my 1911? A: Our 1911 conversion kit is made to fit any Full Size 1911-A1 frame, series 70 or 80, made to Military Specifications. If your gun is not made to military specifications then some fitting maybe required. So a...

Re: 22 conversion or...
I know the Chiappa has a last round slide lock; not only read it in reviews, but seen it in video. And I know that Tactical Solutions has a last round slide lock as well. The only thing preventing me from getting one is what I keep hearing about the the extended ejector getting in the way if the sli...

Re: 22 conversion or...
Does the Ciener kit have a last round slide lock? I know the Kimber doesn't. That feature is important to me as I would also like to practice reloading. And I sent an email to Tactical Solutions asking them about the ejector situation; so hopefully I hear something back from them in a decent amount ...

Re: MSNBC article on FL, UT non resident licenses
I still find it disturbing that people get ridiculed for wanting to protect themselves while their own state won't allow them. I wish CHLs were like driver's licenses; good all over.

22 conversion or...
I currently carry a full size 1911. I'm thinking about getting a 22 conversion kit so that I can practice more without emptying my wallet. A friend turned me on to a kit from Tactical Solutions. The only problem I found with that is apparently you can't use it with an extended ejector; which I have....

Re: Trying out IDPA
Remember this: Everybody was a beginner at some time :) If you want meet somebody like me at the range in advance, I'd be glad to be there. They have safety briefings before the shoot as well. Usually there are practice shoots the day before, just something to help you understand the motions (no fu...

Re: Trying out IDPA
No, for revolvers there is a 6 round minimum. so the 5-shot j-frame is a no-go. ... I would like to though. There is no minimum ammo capacity in IDPA. You can shoot a 5 shot J-frame or a 44 mag 5 shot Charter Arms Bulldog in Stock Service Revolver. You can shoot a 6 shot Rohrbaugh or a Kahr PM-9 in...

Trying out IDPA
Hello there. I have never competed in a pistol competition before, but would like to give it a whirl. There's one this coming Saturday at the Austin rifle club for IDPA. Here's a link: http://www.texastactical.net/matches/idpa.asp I'm not entirely sure about how to go about it though. Do I just show...

Yay! Someone to relate to. I too was Marine on a floating prison.texas1234 wrote:I have been on a Navy ship as a Marine and I understand your point.
I wonder how many other things they're going to try and make a "public option" for.

Re: Healthcare Passes
Goodbye America! Hello Europe!!! Lets see through healthcare they can control just about everything. And since we are 85 trillion in debt already my guess taxes are going to go sky high. Texans do we really want to be a part of this? I dont. No. It kind of reminds me of cleaning on ship; if everyon...

Re: Colorado nonresident firearm purchase
Thanks chabouk. That's the other thing; I didn't want to go through another CHL process. And I wasn't aware that you could have an out of state address on a Texas CHL.

Colorado nonresident firearm purchase
I'm moving to Colorado in August to attend school. After completion, I have every intent of moving back to this Great State. While I'm there I wish to maintain my Texas residency. After some research, I understand that a student does not have to obtain a Colorado driver's license, but it is needed t...

Re: First time out
Congrats on your first outing. I've only been carrying for about a week. I started out only a little nervous, but then got more comfortable; and I carry a full size 1911. And I was under the impression that GT Distributors only served active duty military, LEOs, EMTs, fire fighters, and the such. Or...

Re: 4 MONTHS and Counting
I just received my CHL after a 6 months wait and was told it was due to my birth abroad. I'm not sure if the same applies to you, but I was told that anything out of the normal really throws a wrench in the gears. I'm also pretty sure they just say that so they can take more time. And I'm also fairl...
