Re: Questions asked by LEO for a ticket

of course as long as you give the officer the legal information I dont think there's any reason you cant ask him questions

"So what brings your out here?"
"How YOU doing?"
"What kind of gun is that?"
"So, how's the wife and kids?"
"lets race"

Nah thats just stupid. When I get puled over, its "Yes Sir, No Sir, thank you Officer drive safe"
I've even got complimented for being so polite by a Cop. :cheers2:

One day I'm going to take off running as soon as it goes off, then let them catch me "rlol"
go for it. Also next time you see a Police Car just take off, it'll be good exercise, and you will have a story to TELL.

C-dub wrote:One thing I've noticed around here is that there are several people that say things like, "every time I've been stopped" or "I've been stopped several times and never..."

What in the world are you guys doing that gets you singled out so much? I've been stopped once in the last 10-15 years and as soon as the LEO realized he was in the wrong he got back in his car and took off. I was thinking that maybe his dashcam was on and just wanted to get outta there as quickly as possible. lol
I lived in Coppell, mostly Rich to Upper-middle class. they have a very...enthusiastic police department.
My "crime" was driving this carImage
that was missing almost all of its paint (Darn Dodge Used some cheapo primer and almost every Neon you see from 96-97 is missing paint.)
First time getting pulled over, it was 2 am, it was raining and I was at wendys, my windows were down because the car's AC didnt work and it was the only way I could defog the windows. Officer pulled me over (In the parking lot) because my license plate frame was covering the top part of the T in the Texas on the license (I kid you not) So I ripped the License plate holder off and asked the officer if it was better. He also accused me of smoking pot, because why else would my windows be down, he asked to search the car, I told him "No, because theres nothing in the car but a Spare tire and a Wendys Bag (I had just got it)
Second time I got pulled over was because the Officer had seen a White Car go by MacArthur and Moore very fast, seeing as there was a white Mustang in front of me and I drove like an old lady, I think he was mistaken, and told him as such, I got a warning.
Then I got pulled over in the Tom Thumb parking lot for having a Brake Light out (It wasnt the office said it just looked "Dim")
Then I got pulled over for expired Inspection, but it was expired it was the last day of the month
Then I got pulled over for expired inspection 2 days later by the same cop, I told and showed him my failed inspection (Car was over heating)
Then I got pulled over for not having my lights on, but I did, I got a warning
Then I got pulled over for "Suspicious behavior" because I dropped a friend off on Halloween night at his house, saw there was a Cop on MacArthur so I went the other way in the alley around him, and then he floored it and pulled me over. Asked if I had been drinking and why I had stopped where I did, I got a warning.
Then they got me REAL good for speeding, they said I was going 60 in a 40, the truth was I was going 80, but I thought I was still in Grapevine!
Then once for my windows being down in the rain, got accused of smoking pot again, told them I was just hungry and I work late (At the old United Artist)
Then I had that car crushed for parts and bought a Van, didnt get pulled over at all and havent since.
Abraham wrote: Or, being asked at Petsmart or Petco as I pay for my purchases, if I would donate money for their various charities. I find that extremely offensive. I detest being guilt tripped at the register for the stores favorite charity. Especially, since all three of my critters are rescues and cost me a small fortune in vet expenses, food, care, etc..
Its just an option at the register, I dont see the big deal. The save millions of animals a year from donations. Its like complaining that Charles has a link to Miniature Schnauzer rescue on this website.
Also its the stores ONLY Charity, the reason alot of those rescue groups are around is because Petsmart gives them, money, food, or space or outside the store. All you have to say is no thank you. Same as when I go to Randalls and they ask if I want to donate money for breast cancer or whatever. Even McDonalds will ask you if you want to donate to Ronald McDonald House. The Goodwill has Santa, and the Local Fire deparment will go on the Corner trying to Fill a Boot. America gives more money to charity than any other nation, because we are a nation of "Sellers" thats how capitalism works, baby! :anamatedbanana

Re: Questions asked by LEO for a ticket

Basically I think the OP was asking
DO I HAVE to give them my number and business address or business at all?
I dont think you have to do more than give them your name, Date of Birth and ID legally speaking (I am not a Lawyer, but my wife ALMOST IS ;-) )

Re: Questions asked by LEO for a ticket

every single time I've been pulled over in Coppell I've been asked where I work, and my phone number. We are talking about 10-15 times here. Only got one ticket :tiphat:

As for the Frys and Sams thing, you know how much they lose in theft employee and customer based? Its a big number? You ever work at a job were you get Commission? I do. People try and screw me out of Sales or get "refunds" or just flat out steal, it doesnt hurt the company so much as it hurts me. I'll chase a person down, I've called the cops. Its easier to get them in the store than outside of it for legal and practical reasons. Do I like that they accuse me of theft? no, but I have freinds who work at big ticket places that get SEARCHED before they go home every night. Trust no one

Re: Questions asked by LEO for a ticket

Well the Frys thing is correct, you dont have to stop, but if you dont they can ask you to never come back (and I have seen it happen) also they do catch alot of stuff that way, the guy checking your stuff gets a portion of the money he recovers in merch.
As for Sam CLUB its a club, you payed to join it, you obey their rules as part of keeping your membership so for you to walk out of the SAMS without getting your receipt checked is break Club rules, the club you payed for.
They want where you work at your number so they can FIND YOU. I"ve had a cop call up my Co-Workers and tell them "Pay your stuff, dont make me come up there and get me" she never did, he came in, walked her to his car and put her in the back, no handcuffs or rough stuff, very classy of him
