Pretty hard to see people hiding in time to draw. Avoiding places where they can do this goes without saying, but isn't always possible. In the event someone has the drop on you, armchair quarterbacks are a dime a dozen but only you can read the situation and come up with a plan at the time. For myself, I think it would be hard to have a gun pointed at me and not be really convinced this person may shoot me no matter what I do to avoid identification once he gets what he wants. I decided a while ago that I am not going to leave that decision up to the BG. I would have to decide between going for his gun or putting enough distance/cover between us (taking a chance on his aim) to have time to draw mine. I'm no expert, that's just my thoughts on it. I will be interested to see what the tactical experts on here think.
