Re: Recent Application Approved Individuals (past week or so)
So guys, what will yall be carrying (or carry) when the license comes in? With this new wheelgun I am actually thinking of a buying a wheelgun for carry as well, maybe one of those S&W ultralight .38 jobs or the ruger LCR. Just what I need...another caliber. I really like the reliability of my G...

Re: Recent Application Approved Individuals (past week or so)
In addition to it being at the bottom of a big ole pile of boxes that I just moved in (figure the bottom is the safest place). I will just say I have about a weeks worth of nosey 'relatives' whom might question why I received said box and not them. I know why I received it. Because most of the other...

Ohmygosh neiltus! That's straight out of an Indiana Jones movie! I admire your self-discipline and control of not opening the box of rifles, but come on! Don't keep us in suspense! :bigear:  Should I start calling you Indy? :smilelol5:  Well, it's out in the garage under a lot o...

Re: Recent Application Approved Individuals (past week or so)
Ahh, got mine today too....a mere 125 days from mail to door. Just in time for dinner too... so which gun to carry, P232 or G33? More than likely the G33 most of the time. Grandfather gave me a colt cobra circa 1968 the other day, brand new with box, would be a great carry gun, but the cylinder has...

Got mine on the 5th. Carried to one of my favorite burger places for dinner with my family and some friends (it's also near the hood).

Re: Finally!
I will carry a 33 (357 sig), its small, goes bang all the time, it has truglo's as well. I shoot Win Ranger Bonded in it (great ballistics through glass and car doors). Over 1K rounds through it and no ftf or fte. For summer, I might carry my sig 232. It is about the same size as the 33, but hides a...

Recent Application Approved Individuals (past week or so)
I know I am not the first person to notice that just about everyone who was waiting from Feb-June has had their online status changed to "approved". Just curious (not paranoid), about the waiting time to receive plastic in the mail. Do you have yours? When did you get it? Reason I ask this...

Re: June 2009 Applications
Mine was approved (although I mailed early may and was sent to processing in June 10). It appears, and I say 'appears' that they are working through their backlog and 'pushing' most of the old apps out first. Almost like they brought in a workforce and said "here, take care of this old stack&qu...

Re: Well
This morning my online status changed to Active. I also received a phone call from someone at DPS saying that my license was in the mail and I should receive it within 1-2 weeks (hopefully sooner than that).

Well
This afternoon, I received an email from the same dps chl rep that initially emailed me to tell me my status was switched to processing. She said that my CHL license was active and being mailed today. My online status is still set on "processing". Hopefully I will get it this week. It has ...

Re: May 2009 Applications
Day 105 for me now. I've kept mostly quite so far and have refrained from calling or contacting elected officials. I have however sent 3 emails to DPS requesting an update on my status, all since I passed 90 days and all of which have gone unanswered. Now I'm seeing people in June already getting t...

Re: May 2009 Applications
I just got off of the phone with a lady from the DPS CHL department and she said that mine is being printed and that if it was in the next batch to come in from the manufacturer that I should have it in two weeks. I'm not sure what that means but, I'm starting to think they are just telling people ...

Re: June 2009 Applications
So, I called DPS again. They said mine was sent to the printer in july, but came back "defective", they have sent the license again and I am 2-4 weeks out per felicia's instructions during the call. Given that, what they have told me (my license is being printed) since July 10, almost make...
