Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?
As an infant I was abandoned and found by a puma that had two young kits who raised me as her own. Well, even though it would have been an interesting life, I actually sold PUMA knives back in the late 60's and early 70's at the sporting goods job I had. Years later I started collecting vintage PUMA knives until they got ridiculously expensive. Thus my moniker puma guy.

Thank you for what you and your group do.Bugler wrote:I play the bugle. More specifically, I sound live Taps for Military Funeral Honors at Houston National, and/or where needed, for our veterans through an organization called http://www.BuglesAcrossAmerica.org. We try to give every veteran Live Taps instead of a recording when possible.
My Dad was offered the recorded music. We were fortunate enough to get a group from the VFW who did a wonderful job, but it's nice to know there's an organization sucha s yours.

Can't be all bad. My precious 2 year old grand daughter is nicknamed "Goose", though my daughter has never been able to explain why.goose wrote:Some buddies of mine were working on a nickname for me. One of their wives, with impeccable taste I might add, said, “He looks like a silver fox!” Well, anyone with buddies (at least like mine) will know that a cool name like that, esp. from a “chick”, will not fly. Took them about 15 seconds to butcher silver fox into “grey goose.”

Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?
I collect vintage Puma brand knives. Or I used to until the world went crazy and bids have gone far beyond the value. Sold them in the 60's and 70's when every one had to have a Buck 110 and mostly I was unsuccessful in getting them to appreciate the old world craftsmanship of Puma. Buck is a very good product but if you look at prices of a vintage Puma folding knife vs Buck of the same era... well 'nuff said. I still carry Puma.
