Re: covid shots
No idea why you had such a bad reaction. My wife & I got vaccinated as soon as we could once the vaccines became available - in February of 2020. We got Pfizer because that's what we could get first. Second shot had mild ache in my arm and a bit of tiredness. Got the booster in November, pretty ...

Re: My first Hog (Warning Blood)
Nice size hog and appears to be a good hit right behind the shoulder. Did you dress him out or feed him to the coyotes? I usually only butcher for meat those under about 100# If you are leaving the bigger ones, try this. Get the larger ones ground into summer sausage, snack sticks, breakfast sausag...

Re: Vax to Vote is Coming
Perhaps. But just when I think that I have heard the most ridiculous thing that the Left can possibly conjure up, they have a "hold my beer" rally and outdo themselves. I'm convinced that they trot out this stuff to see if it gets any traction. If it does, they try run with it. If no, lik...

Re: Vax to Vote is Coming
This seems to be the ultra-conservatives spreading conspiracy theories. I haven't ANYTHING about this from the left wing, nor from any credible news sources.

Re: TX: Lubbock potential self defense death occurs
I don't have all the facts, I've only looked briefly at the video.
I don't see a good self-defense claim from what I've seen.
It will be interesting to see what develops…

Re: San Antonio and Austin area meeting
It looks like the planets are aligning for me to make it.
Wife says she'll probably join in also.
I've encouraged her to get a CHL, but she just hasn't yet felt the need. Y'all feel free to offer gentle encouragement if you like.

Re: San Antonio and Austin area meeting
I doubt that I can attend on a regular basis, but I'd like to meet up occasionally.
Maybe someplace in San Marcos? I'm close to Austin.

Another Sow Down —
Saturday evening at the farm. The sorghum was harvested a couple of months ago, so the field is mainly stalks now, making visibility pretty good. Sundown was about 6:45PM so I got out around 6:30PM to set up. It was a cloudless day, so the sunset wasn't particularly spectacular, but this photo gives...

Re: Equipment for hunting feral hogs at night?
In my case I leave the white light out all the time. I don't get out to hunt all that often in that spot, maybe once every month or six weeks. I guess they have time to overcome any learned fear of the light during my absences. I suspect you're right, that hogs will quickly equate light = noisy deat...

Re: Equipment for hunting feral hogs at night?
I always wanted to do this but the expense of all the equipment chases me off. deep cycle battery, electric wire, red light, dimmer switch, hammer and some nails, and you're good to go. There's a lot to be said for this approach. I've used a simple white solar charged motion light from Harbor Freig...

Re: Equipment for hunting feral hogs at night?
Budget is the factor that really determines what you get. Related to the budget issue is how often do you plan to hunt hogs? Hogs, if they're out during the daylight hours, will quickly go nocturnal when increased hunting pressure develops. A light at a feeder is one option, it's how I started. Even...

Re: Up to 18% of Products out of Stock Nationwide
Rafe : That's a pretty succinct summary of the current situation, thanks! I have a Twitter account, although I only follow about five people with it. One of them is Mohamed El-Erian, former head of PIMCO's bond funds, now president of Queen's College at Cambridge University. I think when it comes t...

Re: Chas. Cotton now NRA president
It's a big responsibility. The NRA has some difficult issues facing it, both internal and external. I'm sure you're up to the challenge. Congratulations!
