Re: Would it have been justified?

Seems like we discussed this in my CHL class, but after looking through the materials, I don't really see anything on it. But what is the standard for drawing your gun? Can't you be charged with at least failure to conceal (perhaps worse) if you don't have justification? Is there a statute that addr...

Re: Knit Picking about "The EXAM"

Here's a secret about the shooting test... They don't count all the holes, only the ones that fall outside of the scoring area. So...... Shoot yourself enough holes in the right place for plausible deniability, then mess with the people in the lanes next to you by shooting their targets :smilelol5:...

Re: Kentucky pastor opens church to guns

Saw this in the paper yesterday, and I was intrigued. I, too, wondered about the mixed message of celebrating/demonstrating responsible gun ownership with unloaded guns. Here is a link to the church's explanation of it all: http://www.newbethelchurchky.org/openCarryCelebration.htm" onclick=&quo...

Re: Traffic Stops

I forgot to give the LEO my CHL with my DL. When he walked back to his vehicle, I remembered and got out of the truck to take it to him. I don't think I would get out of the car to tell the officer I had a gun on a traffic stop... Might not end well :anamatedbanana Yeah, I thought about it f...

Re: Traffic Stops

NOT MEANT TO OFFEND!!! If you do not want a ticket dont break the law. That is the easiest way to "get out" of one. However, it really just depends on the LEO and what you did. I got out of tickets prior to getting a CHL. Mainly 'cause the LEO knew that I just slipped up and it was a tota...

Traffic Stops

I am new here, so I apologize if this has been discussed, but the thread about failure to display a CHL got me thinking about this. I have heard some scuttle-butt that many times in traffic stops, CHL holders are dismissed by the officer with a warning for traffic violations, almost like a courtesy....

Re: Prior to Having License in Hand....

Being a newbie, I have been browsing around and just read this thread. I honestly can't believe that it has gone this far. I certainly hope you are exonerated of any violation. Like someone else posted, I too, took the class from a moonlighting LEO. He was obviously pro-carry. Also, a couple of frie...
