I've got an older model AMT .380 Backup from the '80's. It's the pre-Galena Industries single action. I've heard that they can be hit or miss on reliability. Mine has been quite reliable. I have a friend who has one from the same time period, and his is reliable also. I did open the magazine lips sl...

Well, on the positive side, it looks like it has a less steep grip angle, and no trigger widget thingy, and at least is has an external safety, though a grip safety would be a nice addition. I think I'll pass, but Wilson is known for putting out an impressive gun.

I have 2 comments on frangible ammo. First off is price. Some is very expensive. Expensive enough to not practice with it to make sure it's 100% reliable in the intended gun. Some brands aren't all that reliable in autoloaders and I'd sure want to shoot enough to know for a fact that it's 100%. Most...

Sorry Tmix :)

My apologies Tmix. I hadn't yet seen your post offering your services when I made my reply. Wasn't trying to short you the business. :)

Hey guys, if you wanna save yourself a ton of money in refinishing those, try out Duracoat from Lauer. I'm really impressed with it so far. I have a FAL, AK and SKS lined up to coat as soon as the winds stop kicking up so much dust. If you can use a spray gun or air brush, you can do the coating you...

I find myself mainly shooting in the desert not too far from my house. This saves me a drive across town to the range and lets me do spur of the moment plinking when I have some free time. I like it because I can set up targets at various distances and engage them as fast as I want. I can plink to m...

Hi everyone

Howdy folks, I'm a 42 year old single male, turning 43 on tax day (Oh joy!). I'm in career transition out of computers and into firearms/gunsmithing. I live in El Paso for now, with plans to move to my land in Colorado in the next few years. I've had a CHL since about 2 years after it started. My 70...

Jennings, Bryco, Raven, etc., are made of soft, heavy metal that I don't think is steel. I've had to repair bent firing pins from dry firing and several other failures for friends who bought them. They're ok for plinking, but I wouldn't want to trust my life to one.
