Re: Concealed Weapons Applications Surge

The "surge" may be telling us other things as well, in particular a growing concern about the breakdown of society. That could happen if the current economic situation continues to decline or if we have one or more terrorist attacks (excuse me, "man-made disasters") in metropoli...

Re: Opinion on Carry at a mall near me

This is the basic "form" letter I send to business that require it.... Upon attempting to shop at your store, I noticed that you have it posted 30.06, disallowing the carry of concealed weapons by CHL license holders. Acknowledging that your reasoning is to insure the safety and security o...

It's here :clapping: Day 108 and I have plastic in hand. Doing the Wally Walk tomorrow as I'm busy setting up my new gun safe tonight! What a Day: I bought a new safe today, got my CHL, and the new Galco holster I ordered also arrived, and I'm off work tomorrow! I'm like a kid at Christmas :anamated...

Re: Rules for wally world first time out with CHL

I'm mentally preparing for my WallyWalk. Got the "license issued" stat a few days ago, waiting on snail mail. Is it cheating to go practice somewhere else before taking on the big kahuna of WW? I also hate WW, never can get help in sporting goods. I shop Academy exclusively for my gun stuf...

Re: February Applications

I hear what you are saying and I certainly understand the standpoint. I know it shouldn't cause any problems but you never can tell. Personally I am going to sit tight and wait at least 100 days before I even consider starting to contact them. As I am only on day 30 something so I have a way to go ...

Re: February Applications

I don't believe you can just quote that little snippet without having read the full statute which reads So if they don't issue because of someone 'pestering' I would imagine that was considered "capricious or arbitrary decision by the department." wouldn't it? As a side question....when d...

Re: February Applications

According to DPS statutes, don't they have 60 days to approve, deny, or at least give notice as to why licenses haven't been issued? Wouldn't those still waiting after 90 days be automatically denied if the DPS fails to notify them? Those still waiting deserve answers, and if I were still waiting, ...

Re: February Applications

I gotta stop coming here! Although I'm happy for those of you who have recently received your plastic, I'm getting more ticked off every time I see that your package was received by DPS AFTER mine, and I'm still "processing". I'm at 103 days today, got my PIN at the 30 day mark, and have n...

Re: Sotomayor and 2A Rights

In January of 2009, Sotomayor ruled against the Supreme Court's ruling in another case (details to come). She made the statement during that ruling, that the Constitution's 2nd Ammendment only applies to military, and that it should be up to the individual states to regulate their own gun laws. . D...

With all this talk of how bad Harris County is, does anyone know how Bexar County is doing? I'm at 96 days now since they received it.

Has anyone heard of how Bexar County is doing? I'm at 95 days from them signing for it. Hey Shorts...saw your posts on Texas Gun Talk...lets make a wager who gets their card first! I'd wager a six pack you get yours first. "rlol" Your on....whoever gets the card first owes the "loser...
