I've been wrong before, so this wouldn't be the first time, but I do not think your friends' permission makes it legal for you to carry in their home. There is no provision for someone other than a LEO to give you permission to break the law. And you would also be carrying illegally once you exited your vehicle since you're not at your home or place of business. You are breaking the law, but it is unlikely that anyone would report you.
