They have to pay out your earned vacation either way. You may want to check on how your company handles vacation and 'sick days' as well as short term disability.
It's possible that you may be able to use disability for your time off, or maybe sick days, and not vacation. That way, when you get your last pay check, you'll get cash for the unused vacation days. Don't use them if you don't have to! They're worth money, so try your other options first.
Appreciate the advice... I wish it worked that way in this company. No sick days, vacation is "not earned" it is "given" to us according to the company. They have informed us that it can not be cashed in under those conditions. It is forfeited upon termination. Disability only kicks in after 2 weeks. Since I have all ready given notice it's not available.
Just talked to my terminal manager and I need to stop by and sign a vacation request. He will send it in as vacation. At least I won't lose those days when I terminate my employment as I would have otherwise. May help pay for some of the resulting expenses that I am incurring.
Or you might be able to use FMLA. I think you can use that after an auto accident. FMLA is tough for a company to legally deny if you follow the rules about applying. However, since today is your last day, FMLA may be a moot point.

What a dumb idea. We all know cows can't read. And, to top that, they can't spell very well either. I know this from seeing how they spell wurdz on the Chick-Fil-A commercials. :biggrinjester:
Then maybe just a cow silhouette in side a red circle with slash through it.
