Re: It's finally been settled!
Glocks are like hammers. Simple, always work and ugly. They are simply a tool, nothing to get sentimental about. Until returning to law enforcement in December 2015, I never carried one on duty. My last 9 years in uniform I carried my Colt Delta Elite SS that I had customized myself by installing a beavertail grip safety, adjustable trigger, Wilson full guide rod and Trijicon night sights. It was finicky when I first got it but I managed to work all the bugs out of it to where it was very reliable and started carrying it on duty. In my last two years in LE I was plainclothes and it continued to serve me well. That DE was a gift from my wife so needless to say it will always hold a special place as all my 1911s do. All that being said, this new department issued Glock 22 is fun to shoot and has yet to bobble after about 1000 rounds I have put through it so far. I have complete confidence in this Glock, but if it were to get stolen tomorrow I would just get another one and move on, something I can't say about my 1911s, especially the DE.
