Re: Crossbreed question

I guess I was lucky...mine fits like a glove on my Kimber .45 pistol.

Re: Crimson Trace or Night Sights?

I have both on my Kimber Ultra Carry II .45 and I find that I shoot much better using the sights only. I'm sure that in total or near darkness the laser grips would come in very handy. It is nice to have both though... :txflag:

Re: April 2009 Applications

I am in the middle of finding out the exact process taking place in Harris County. Talked to DPS this morning and the only thing they are waiting on is Harris County. I have called field office after field office and nobody has an answer to the process of what a field office has to do to fufill a b...

Re: SuperTuck vs. MTAC

I have the CrossBreed SuperTuck for times I wear jeans. I think it is too heavy for slacks and other light material. I also have a SmartCarry that I have for times I wear slacks. They both work great but I like one over the other depending on what I am wearing.

Re: Bullet setback

What's the bullet weight on those .40s of yours? I carry the 180 grain Hydro-Shoks in my USP Compact, and I've never seen a measureable setback after multiple cyclings. The 180s have a more truncated cone shape than the ones you've shown here in your OP. That's the only reason I haven't just shot t...

Re: April 2009 Applications

I think the law has that renewals shouldn't take longer than 45 days, while new apps shouldn't take longer than 90. If they actually have seperate renewal and new piles of apps, I don't know. I'm also thinking that maybe applying online first gets the background check done , whereas if you do it al...

Re: Bullet setback

Now as a practice I lock the slide back and manually insert the first round of carry ammo, release the slide and then put the full clip in the gun. That eliminates the result you show here. I thought that this was a bad idea? me too...I believe only a small handful of pistols can handle this withou...

Re: First Purchase

I can recommend Buds Gun Shop and Osage County Guns, both online. They have been outstanding in all of my dealings with them. I bought my Kimber Grand Raptor II from Osage via gunbroker.com. Carter's Country will let you handle any firearm they have. Good luck!

Re: Bullet setback

It looks like some rounds that I have racked into my automatics then pull them out later for whatever reason (mostly to load in some FMJ to practice). Sometimes if it feedjams the first round the bullet will drive into the case a bit. You can still shoot it safely as I have done that quite a bit. No...

Academy on I10 and Uvalde has 8 Mega Pack 250-round boxes of Remington UMC .45 FMJ for $98.99 left. Limit 1 per person. Carter's Country on Shaver has Winchester WB .45 FMJ 50-round for $28 and 100-round for $59. They had lots of 9mm, 38 special and others too. The High Caliber Gun Show vendors in P...

Re: ammo on sale

Academy on Spencer at B8 had lots of Monarch 45 ($17.99), 9mm ($10.99) and 38 special ($??) and quite a bit of UMC 250 count 9mm ($56) and 45 ($98) at 11AM, I called a friend who went there at lunch and said all the UMC was gone and he bought the last 4 boxes of Monarch 45 and most of the Monarch 3...
