Allowing teachers (or any law abiding citizen for that matter) to carry guns in any facility is not a one-size-fits-all solution to any type of crime.
But it IS an important part of a comprehensive solution (along with hardening the target with security measures and armed security officers) AND the proper/Constitutional decision.
Frankly, I'd support a law that states every gun-free zone must by law have 1 (per 500 disarmed people or 20,000 square feet of space) fully certified, fully trained, fully armed law enforcement officer or armed top-flight private security officer (with qualifications rivaling the best politician body guards) paid for directly from the general budget of that facility (no Federal subsidies - you want to maintain your local anti-gun nirvana, then YOU pay for it out of YOUR local funds).

An armed deputy sheriff at Arapahoe High School in Colorado likely prevented a school shooting there from being worse, officials say, ending the episode in less than two minutes.

Yeah, why would we need good guys with guns in every school? That's just stupid, irresponsible, and makes feel all skeered inside.

SarcasmPierson killed himself less than 1 minute, 20 seconds after entering the school, the sheriff said. He took his own life in the school's library as he was being confronted by a law enforcement officer, Robinson said.

Quoting the shooter
AND... his FaceBook postings:The bit about gun violence is ironic, considering the circumstances around his own death.“you republicans are so cute” ........ “The Republican Party: Health Care: Let ‘em Die, Climate Change: Let ‘em Die, Gun Violence: Let ‘em Die, Women’s Rights: Let ‘em Die, More War: Let ‘em Die. Is this really the side you want to be on?”
I now support strict gun control.
NO LIBERAL COMMIE SOCIALIST WINDBAG SHALL EVER BE ALLOWED WITHIN 1 MILE OF A GUN, AMMUNITION, "THAT THING THAT GOES UP", OR ANY SANE PERSON WHO OWNS GUNS, LIKES GUNS, DOESN'T "DISLIKE" GUNS, OR JUST GENERALLY WANTS TO AVOID IDIOTS.
And so declared by the powers invested ... so forth and so on ...

The obvious solution is to ban socialists.

Re: Just great! Another darned school shooting.
No no no ... check your gun control flow chart ... this scenario leads to calls for waiting periods so all the crazy people can "cool off" before they're given the privilege of possessing the gun they paid for.

Re: Just great! Another darned school shooting.
This incident does not qualify as a "mass shooting" (4+ killed at random by lone shooter with no particular motive)
It's a "school shooting" only in the most basic sense that it happened at a school.
It did provoke a massive, well-executed, professional response from school & first responders.
But at the end of the day, this seems little more than a premeditated attempted murder of a particular target with a few innocent casualties and a murderer who offed himself. Yes, the wannabe murderer was an adolescent, but so are many of the 500 murderers every year in Chicago. What's the difference between this incident and a drive by in front of a Chicago school or playground. The 24-hour news networks don't drop everything and cover Chicago drive bys as Breaking News.
This incident is a big deal in the media today because its physical proximity to other Colorado shootings and calendar proximity to Newtown shooting give media another opportunity to push for gun control.
But - sickeningly - the lack of a high body count means covrage of this incident will quickly fade. We'll get a weekend of libtard gun control shaming (that we were going to get for Newtown anniversary anyway), then this will be forgotten.
