Re: Lubbock CHL Instructors - Any recommendations?

The South Plains College Criminal Justice Department runs a "One Stop Shop" That will do your photos, fingerprints, course time, and Rangework all together. They will let you rent a Glock for the Range as well. You may want to contact them, I believe, at their Levelland campus.

Re: Don't know if I'm eligible for CHL....

xdejablu3x--- I got a Minor in Possession (MIP) ticket when I was 20 on the beach in Port Aransas from a TABC officer, to which I subsequently got deferred adjudication. I applied when I was 23 (3 years later) and I decided to get a certified letter from the Port Aransas Municipal Court stating that...

Re: Moved away from Texas...

KFP---I tried that, but that system won't allow you to change your address to an out of state address. I just called DPS, and they said that I have to get my new plastic Driver License from my new state of residence. I then fill out the Form CHL-70 off of the DPS website, and mail in a color copy (f...

Re: Yes,Im a harden criminal...

I got an MIP in college and I definately had to declare it on my application, and get the Port Aransas City Court to send a letter saying that they had to record of it, man that Spring Break Trip ended up being a huge hassle...

Moved away from Texas...

Just a quick question, I moved out away from Texas to a "may issue" state (don't ask why). How do I go about changing the address on my Texas License and converting it to a Non-resident CHL? I can't carry in my new state right now (non-reciprocal with Texas), but I am working on getting a ...

Re: 51% With Consent?

My CHL instructor specifically addressed this issue, and he said that if you have the owner's consent, that you WERE allowed to carry into a 51% establishment. I remember a case recently in South Texas where the owner shot a gang of men trying to rob the place, but it was his bar and he shot them wi...

Re: TABC

How hard would it be for the TABC database to note something like "51%=Y/N" on the website? I would think if that information is in their database, a good programmer could add that code in less than an hour? Why doesn't TABC note this information on the website? Would it take a change in t...

Re: AMC Theater at the Parks Mall... 30.06(kinda)

All of the AMC's have this same sign, and you are correct, they are not large enough, and the wording is not in block lettering. The signs I have seen use normal font UPPER and lower case letters, not BLOCK LETTERING as required. The lettering is also only about a half inch high. They also only post...

Re: Apartment Fire Marshall Inspection??

Well, I guess the inspection happened on Friday...I don't really know. My wife and I left out of town on Thursday night, (after securing all of the firearms and ammo in the safe, we didn't cover the safe) and making sure that all of our furniture and electrical outlets were up to specs. I also took ...

Re: allowed to carry inside clinic/doctors office?

Okay, this is the last thing I am going to say on this topic, as obviously you all are going to do as you please. First please notice that I said "University Owned" not University Affiliated. University Owned hospitals usually have University in their name "University of Texas Southwe...

Re: allowed to carry inside clinic/doctors office?

I personally spoke to the UT-Southwestern and the Texas Tech Police Departments about this and they BOTH said that since the Hospitals are owned and run by the University that CHL carry was banned there since they are educational institutions. Parkland is affiliated, but owned by the county, thus yo...
