Re: Gun control first for Biden executive orders
Below is a message I just sent to the governor and my state senator (state rep is a democrat, so I didn't bother.) It's just a very rough idea but I think it could be put in place at minimal cost--which could be easily funded by application fees. The Texas Citizens Militia. Dear Governor Abbott. The...

Re: Smith&Wesson M&P 2.0 3.6 Compact
I really don't like Glock triggers--not crazy about any of the striker guns with "middle finger" trigger safeties. I have an original Shield 9mm, which to me is infinitely better than any Glock trigger. To me anyway. I once had a G19. Perfect size nice mag capacity, but I hated the trigger...

Re: NRA Leader LaPierre Says Being Extorted,
This whole thing is not all that surprising. Big nonprofits have this sort of scandal from time to time. Wounded Warrior is a good example. Goodwill is another. Some years ago the Shriners were still another. I don't have all the facts, as I'm not in a position to be able to get them. I do have some...

Re: I gave leather iwb a shot....
I agree with you almost completely. I carry in a single clip kydex IWB, because I need to frequently remove it and put it in my briefcase on the job. The big wide tuckables are not practical for me, as I don't have time to jump into a restroom to remove the holster. Over the years, I've also had a c...

Re: CHL Denial Question
Jeddle, you might want to check Texas laws before you rely on a Florida permit to carry here. I'm no expert, but it seems like out of state permits are not valid in Texas if you are a Texas resident. Probably someone here knows better than I do, but it's worth checking, rather than risk a felony con...

As I recall, he came here from Austin, aka East San Francisco. Anyone surprised that he brought his attitudes with him?

Re: Texan Jailed After Defensive Gun Use
One thing this points out is that you can be arrested even when you are in the right. I have the prepaid legal that many others do, and I've had it since 2011. A few years ago when they added optional bail bond and expert witness coverage, I jumped on it. I have all the available coverages except fo...

Re: When is a place a polling place
As a member of U.S. Law Shield since 2011, I should have thought to look there. The broadest definition seems to be the safe bet. Since I don't leave a gun in my car, then I will continue as I have for years, and leave the gun at home in the safe.
Thanks for the replies.

When is a place a polling place
I've searched and searched, but I still apologize if asked and answered! I'm a member of an organization that meets at a county community center. As such it cannot be a gun-free location by law. However, it is also a polling place for early and regular voting. Two questions. 1. Is the whole place a ...

Re: Katy: What on earth was managment thinking?
The good news I see in this thread is that Katy Mills is no longer a 30.06 place. I've not been there in maybe five years, ever since they showed up on the texas3006.com site with 30.06 signs. Just in time, as I need to go to an AT&T store, and that's the closest one with the latest hours. I'll ...

Re: Movie Theaters
Anyone know about SMG in Houston. City Centre location? Thanks. I have been to the SMG in City Center many times. Have never seen a sign. 10-4. Took a chance. It has the Unlicensed weapon warning signs but no 30.06 or 30.07. Good news, although I rarely go to the movies anyway. Had to take grandchi...

Re: Tennessee Takes Leadership on Gun Free Zones
My family was from Tennessee. I was born in Knoxville. However, after the way the TVA "STOLE" farm land from my family (fair market price you know) when the Tellico dam was built. I don't care if I ever set foot in Tennessee again. Eminent Domain is rarely a windfall for the "seller&...

Re: Tennessee Takes Leadership on Gun Free Zones
What I hope could come from this is a reduction in the knee-jerk reaction of so many businesses in Texas, to the open carry law, where they not only post 30.07 signs but for some reason also added 30.06 signs. Maybe the sign dealers offer a deal and a pitch, "As long as you're stopping open car...

Re: Tennessee Takes Leadership on Gun Free Zones
Here's a link to the law: http://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/Default.aspx?BillNumber=SB1736&ga=109 Note that it includes property damage AND... it includes injury, death or damage while traversing to or from the place of business. So, if you're dumb enough to still shop at Whole Foods, and...
