In all likelyhood neither account is probably 100% accurate and the truth may be somewhere in between. The unfortunate part is that people will latch on to which ever version suits their own agenda which will only serve to further polarize the anti and pro Obama folks.stroo wrote: In this case, I think I will take his advice and believe the email, not the high ranking officers cited by Snopes.

Re: How SEALs Carried Out Their Mission
I have no idea what technology the Navy Seals have, but from a technological standpoint, the technology exists today to help with things like head tracking.LaserTex wrote:I saw that too. ABC News at 1730 hrs. What exactly is a stabilized rifle? I want one of those ... and an A10! LOL

It is certainly possible to build some kind of mount that the gun sits on that is computer controlled and that can lock on and track a head even while the head and/or you are moving. All the sniper would have to do is pull the trigger once the command is given.
So, while the snipers may well have taken those shots without any kind of assistance, the idea of the existence of some kind of stabilization or other computer assisted mechanism is certainly within the realm of possibility.

PS: Maybe I just came up with an idea to be patented :-)
