Re: Attempted robbery proves fatal for one in Poteet

To ClarkLZeus:
You may want to cancel any thought of giving a bad guy a verbal warning.

Read about GG John Landers, 45, who gave a BG a command to drop his
Bryco .380 during a Burger King robbery in Miami, Florida. Instead of
dropping his gun as requested, the 18 year old BG opened fire
on Landers, hitting him 3 times, though not fatally.

Landers then opened fire on the perp with his Glock 9MM and killed him right
there.

It's great that a GG intervened, but perhaps he should have just opened up on
the kid, who was threatening the BK staff and customers with his gun.

Mr. Landers was recovering in the hospital and is expected to live.

Re: Attempted robbery proves fatal for one in Poteet

Criminals like to rob other criminals since they feel the victims might not report the crime.

Even though the business of running the gambling machines was illegal the owner still
had the right to have a handgun on his premises <unless he was a convicted felon?>.

It would seem that although the owner was running an illegal business he still has the
right to protect his employee's life as well as his own.

He'll be in enough trouble for the illegal enterprise charges. I would think the grand
jury will "no bill" him for the shooting.

Here's a side question:
Felons aren't supposed to be in possession of weapons.
But are felons allowed to have weapons in their residences, businesses, and
vehicles? Or just prevented from getting CHL's?

Here's some proof that you don't always need a .45 to get the job done!
