Harris County and now on day 115 I have my license!!!! Wally Walk will be happening today :-)

I'm out past 80 days and I was also "expedited" But I was just notified that my license is now "awaiting printing" Based on others experience here it can take another couple of weeks once it goes to print.

I know that won't make you feel any better but one day it will get here.

Usually DPS claims that any incomplete info can and will reset the clock.

Well now I am just awaiting the printing of the license and waiting and waiting. I know this has been discussed before but I am amazed that it takes this long to print a CHL. They can print a drivers license in a day how does it take weeks to print a CHL? Oh well at least it will be here some day.

So on Friday I wrote my State Senator and at 10am this morning I got a call from DPS apologizing for the delay and telling me I have been put on the expedited list. About 30 minutes after that I got a call from the senators office making sure DPS called me. So I will let everyone know if this works keeping my fingers crossed. Sadly I am now going to be out of town for the rest of the week so maybe my CHL will be here when I get back.

01/31/09 -- CHL Class Taken
02/02/09 -- Packet mailed USPS certified w/return receipt
02/04/09 -- Confirmed delivery in Austin
03/04/09 -- Status change to processing
04/03/09 -- Sent letter to State Senator
04/06/09 -- Application put on high priority list
XX/XX/09 -- Application Complete
XX/XX/09 -- Plastic in hand!

WOOOHOOOO!!!! Status changed to Processing Application (wait time for that was 4 weeks to the day)

OK so after requesting my packet online almost a year ago (yeah i should have gotten it done then). I am now waiting.

XX/XX/09 -- Status change to processing
XX/XX/09 -- Application Complete
XX/XX/09 -- Plastic in hand!

And now I am still waiting for status to change. My current status is still Packet mailed to applicant. And all DPS can tell me is that it takes 3-4 weeks to put an application into the system.

Love the forum and glad I have a group of people I can vent to who actually understand the frustration.

Oh and I am in Harris County.
