The Annoyed Man wrote:For me, the reason is simple: my back hurts. Every day. Some days are more or less bearable, but others are truly bad.....and I depend on prescription pain killers nearly every day. So, I tend to disarm at home simply because it removes something that tends to exacerbate the pain. It doesn't seem to matter whether I am carrying IWB or OWB, or which manufacturer's holster I'm wearing. So when I remove the gun and holster, the pain tends to abate fairly quickly because the pressure against my side/back is relieved. This is a non-issue when I am pocket carrying, and often after returning home, I'll swap out a pocket gun for the holstered gun. But, I don't always do it, and I am confident that I can get to my gun if I need to.RHenriksen wrote:Personally, I don't understand disarming while at home. I'm not paranoid; just aware of my blonde roots! Rather keep things simple and consistent for my little brain.
