It is legal in Texas, but that is completely dependent on state law.

You must be 21 or older to possess a handgun in CT and many other states.

No issue with Federal or TX law, but as you stated some states do have laws against it. I wonder, if they can restrict ownership/possession of handguns to those 21 yrs old and older, could they make a law restricting ownership/possession of handguns to people, say, 30 yrs old or older?
