Re: Multi State legal website

Thanks Linda or Marty, that is what I was looking for.

I think this was mentioned in Saturdays class, but I was being fingerprinted or otherwise distracted.

Multi State legal website

Does anyone know of a website that contains info regarding the carry laws of other states? I travel for business and plan on carrying when out of state (to states with TX and UT reciprocity). I figured while I wait for Texas to process my app, i could brush up on the laws pertaining to the states I ...

Re: Grr.. No Gun in the Workplace policy

pretty common. in most cases its not a statement against CHL, its to cover the company and for insurance purposes. I work in a very pro gun environment, in fact we take company hunting trips, if someone buys a new gun, they bring it to the office to show it off, etc etc. But our employee handbook st...

Yes, 1164, my apologies. I was going by memory and had several different bill #'s floating.

Charles, what is your reasoning behind waiting? The Leg session is over in early June, its mid april and this hasn't been discussed in committee yet.

CC on College Campus- Action Needed

I'm sure most of you know that Tx HB 762 made it out of commitee with no issues and appears to have encough support to pass. It is now resting in the State Affairs Committee of the Senate. I say resting b/c my local representative, Robert L. Duncan, is the Chair of this committee and is doing nothin...

Re: Showing Identification

The idoicracy of this is that an UNLICENSED person who is carrying on or about their person while in their vehicle travelling does not need to notify a LEO that they are carrying...... Why should a CHL holder be required to identify themselves, its not as thought LEO's don't have the info in a datab...

Re: Abilene: Any place to store my gun?

just throwing this out there, but would a local law enforcement agency store a weapon for you?

I'm just not sure I could trust a gun shop I know absolutely nothing about.

Re: the actual law for...

I may be wrong about this, but I don't think the federal law applies in this case. If we are talking about a college campus, I think the federal law defines schools as elementary and secondary, not colleges. I noticed that too, I just assumed at trial they would argue that College was a degree of &...

Re: the actual law for...

Why can't the law be written for idiots, with pictures The law was originally intended to be written for the "common man" to understand. The founders of this nation intended for laws to be simple, in their minds it was hard for a man to follow a law he didn't understand. And then we got l...

Re: the actual law for...

I wonder if "unloaded" is interpreted as an "empty gun," or without possession of ammo????? More directly can you have an "unloaded gun" locked up, and magazine with ammo?

I guess its really a non issue for CHL's

Re: the actual law for...

I was aware of the "unloaded" or locked/stored component of the statute.

I have a lockable compartment in my vehicle, do you believe this would be sufficient to meet this criteria?

Re: the actual law for...

Everything is legal unless the law defines it as a crime. The Texas Penal Code is here: http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/SOTWDocs/PE/htm/PE.46.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Section 46.03 of the Penal Code defines places weapons prohibited: (a) A person commits an...

Re: On school premises

Pardon my ignorance, because I have not taken my CHL as of yet, so I haven't recieved the class room discussion of this rule. But can anyone provide legal defense for carrying inside of the "Gun Free Zone?" I understand the Texas Penal Code description of "Premises," but I questi...
