Re: February 2014 Applications

kayla wrote:Great news. Logged on today and it says that they are making my card. The process is almost done and I am a very happy girl. However my boyfriend is having the same problem I was. They keep asking him to send his chl 100 form and then it gets lost every time he sends it. But I hopefully got that all taken care of, but I will protect him while we are out and about with my newly made card!!!
Congrats.

Texas CHL in hand 10 minutes ago.

I've carried a firearm (or two or 3) for most of my adult life, so not a big deal.

Carry smart, don't display unless you are willing to use it, and practice often and SAFETY
must be your mindset.

kayla wrote:Because of financial issues I took my chl class in august 2013 and finally got to pay the ridiculously expensive fee in February 2014. I have yet to see any changes in my chl status. I paid the fees, got my finger prints done and still waiting. Nothing has changed.
Welcome to the forum. Regarding fees, less than $30 a year seems pretty small compared to the cost of a firearm, ammo, and range fees needed to become proficient.

infoman wrote:You should resubmit online again for sure. They recently upgraded their contact us page, now the site must have your docs attached correctly before it lets the email through. Before it did not & tons of people failed to properly send emails with the attachments. Yours most likely went through without the attachments on it.
Fixed it for you.

Re: February 2014 Applications

DavidMSelf wrote::waiting: It is May the 11th 2014 and it has been 10 days since I did my whole thing by email and not a change on the status yet. I know there have been those that have waited days and those that have waited months so I know there is no set time frame but I was told by the people that handle this that I should submit it by email to get things going faster but I have seen no evidence to support that at all. I have no bad background and I was fingerprinted two days after my CHL class which I passed without missing a single question and I shot perfectly. I am not worried at all about the background check because there is nothing negative to find. I just wish this was a faster more efficient process. I can't take my gun on vacation because I know it will not be here by the time I leave and I am going through states that require my CHL to even have the gun loaded in the SUV next to me in the box or on me for that matter. I will be forced to leave it in the safe and locked away. I have a house sitter and a very well trained watch dog that is about 125lbs but I still would have liked taking my weapon with me. I too was told they had hired temps to catch up on the back log and I was really hoping that it would make a big difference but everyone that I have spoke to face to face in my area says that expect a 3 month wait and that is pure agony. I check the site every day just to see if they have started the process but it never changes and the status remains the same. This is the pits people.
Welcome to the forum. I'm sure the people who applied in Feb that are still waiting are grinning a little at your first post. I know the wait is frustrating but this too shall pass.

I applied on Feb 9, 2014 and received the email saying my packet was received on the 10th. Since then there has been absolutely no change to my status. It is getting to be ridiculous. Anyone out there still waiting from an early Feb submission. I am seeing several people applying later in the month and receiving them already.
I received the email stating "my information was received at DPS"...that was on 4 Feb. I'm at about day 83 right now and still don't even have a status change. It's definately a waiting game. :txflag:
