Good deal. Glad to see some sanity is creeping back into the market. I'll probably wait 6 months and pick up a used one for $375 or so, probably with a bunch of extras thrown in.probation_officer wrote:I paid $449.00 plus tax two weeks ago for a Shield 9mm in Rusk.

Re: M&P Shield Pricing
I was interested in the shield at the time but not at that price point. Went with the XDs at a $100 less.armanius wrote:Price is relative on how much value a buyer places on an item. While $700 might be triple or quadruple of the cost to manufacture/distribute/market/sell, would I pay that much if I thought that a Shield would be perfect for my carry needs (and I couldn't find it elsewhere for cheaper)? Probably.
Fortunately, they seem to be widely available at $499 in Harris County.

Re: M&P Shield Pricing
Not that long ago people were forking over $700 for these at gun shows. I laughed at the stupidity of it all.SQLGeek wrote:TAM, what I mean is from a handling perspective not firepower. The Annoyed Man wrote:They are both 9mm, so what does "too little gun" mean?
Thanks everyone for the information. Sounds like $499 is very fair all things considered.
