Good deal. Glad to see some sanity is creeping back into the market. I'll probably wait 6 months and pick up a used one for $375 or so, probably with a bunch of extras thrown in.

Fortunately, they seem to be widely available at $499 in Harris County.
I was interested in the shield at the time but not at that price point. Went with the XDs at a $100 less.

TAM, what I mean is from a handling perspective not firepower.

Thanks everyone for the information. Sounds like $499 is very fair all things considered.
Not that long ago people were forking over $700 for these at gun shows. I laughed at the stupidity of it all.
