I also am VERY DISSAPPOINTED in the DPS response.

I have to pay for my CHL, no one else pays for it.
-MY CHL ID card is ONLY for Law Enforcement Officers use. (and gun dealers!)
- NO ONE ELSE HAS A NEED TO KNOW FOR ANY REASON. PERIOD!

DPS is Blocked from releasing our personal information, By the LAWS passed a few years ago, for the protection of the individual CHLer.
For the very same reasons we need to expand the laws to block ANYONE from Collecting, Possessing, or Distributing ANY CHL information, Making it a FELONY with a stiff fine and JAIL TIME! This applys to a person, group, or a company. (Excepting DPS ONLY)

Also remove all info on the card itself except Photo, Name, Card number. (That is all that a LEO needs to check it out).

Tx-OU weekend (Big Stadium full of people + fair) needs LESS security ????????????

(Different rules-PRIVATE. As in none of their business - L.E.O. Only!).

So... they Do Not collect information from:

sex offenders
felons on parole
Illegal Aliens
gangbangers
etc.

WHY IS TEXAS/DALLAS/DPS ALLOWING THEM TO POKE THEIR NOSE INTO POLICE BUSINESS ?????????

The privacy of CHL info is Clearly shown in that -DPS IS LEGALLY NOT ALLOWED TO RELEASE THAT INFO!

** The Dallas Police are Witnessing, and ACCOMPLICES!, in allowing the information to be Collected by a Non Governmental third party**

Dallas Zoo - no problem
Dallas library (s) - no problem
etc., etc. -no problem

It is Very Strange that Dallas is allowing this to be happening.
(Dallas DOES OWN Fair Park and IS STILL responsible)
ALL of the other Dallas City Services seem to be fairly well managed and consistant year to year, with NONE of the other services harrassing CHL or other groups of citizens. (subcontracted or city employees)

-Exactly what DOCUMENTED problems have CHL 'ers caused at the State Fair. How many and when???

TEXAS/DPS is NOT allowed to release personal CHL info except to L.E.O.-ITS ILLEGAL.

MAKE IT ILLEGAL FOR ANYONE/ANY BUSINESS TO --COLLECT-OR- RELEASE-- PERSONAL CHL INFO.


With Very Severe penalties.

Seems like they put themselves in a very bad position:

If there is identity theft traced back to their data collecting, then they-NOT the city- BUT THEY will be Directly Responsible and Liable on any lawsuit or criminal actions.

There is a good possiability the CHL victim(S) could be:
-Judge
-Lawyer
-L.E.O.
-D.A.
-etc., etc.

-CHL holders have familys. So they may be 2-3% of general population, But ADD IN their family/friends = looking at 5% of the gate Rejected.-- Seems like a very POOR way to run a business. --

Fair Manhours?$$$ wasted collecting info that Really is NOT needed by the fair!
Reduce the personel cost = more Profit !!! (Why Pay for WannaBeCops when you have the Real Police???????)
