Re: January Applicants

Awwllllright! Plastic came yesterday, finally. :woohoo Wally Walk in the works, as well as a Costco Constitutional. Take heart folks. I honestly thought that by the time I got my CHL, it would be irrelevant as "only "outlaws would have guns." A fact that some of you in the Waiting Room might be interested in is the DPS website still said "Processing Application" even after I opened the mail yesterday. They need to spend some of the thousands of dollars that we pay in fees to hire more temps.

Anyway, the long wait is over!!

Re: January Applicants

Ok, it has been three weeks since DPS received my completed paperwork along with a cashier's check for the fee. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas morning (read impatient). Couldn't stand it any longer, so I emailed DPS this afternoon requesting a PIN. They responded a couple of hours later saying that my application had not been entered into system. "It is likely that it is going through the processes required before entry. When a completed application is entered you will receive a confirmation letter with your PIN number." So, for all of you fellow travelers, it is taking at least three weeks for them to get around to feeding paper to the computer. I'll betcha they cashed that bank cashier's check real quick though. Be patient young man

Re: January Applicants

Howdy everyone. Well I finally took the plunge, and registered on this forum after being a "lurker" for a couple of months. Took the CHL class Jan. 10 at Lone Star Gun Range near Lockhart. Mailed the completed application packet via certified mail on Monday. DPS got it Tuesday. Received the return receipt today!

Now I will have to impatiently watch for that old pot to boil :yawn The CHL class was informative, and lively, but I definitely need to continue my education. I am looking forward to learning all I can from you "old timers." Thanks for being there! :clapping:
