Yep. That's what I did today, too. Opened the box and there it was: an envelope from DPS. "Oh, look, here it is." No fireworks, no movement of the earth, nothing. Guess it IS shock.usa1 wrote:give it time to sink in , you still may be in shockwheelgun wielder wrote:Strange. I opened the mailbox today and there it was, the envelope with my CHL card in it. The strange part was that there was no shaft of heavenly light from the sky, and no choir of angelic voices raised in song, which is kind of what I expected.
Oh well, at least the long wait is over now.

Re: February Applications
Wooo! Hoooo!
Well, it finally happened! Look what I found when I logged on this morning. Only 66 days from PIN issuance and 93 days from DPS receipt. Now, I've got to wait for the good ol' USPS to do it's job. Now, where did I put my holster?
Edit: I'm in Guadalupe County, and a friend of mine here got his a couple days ago, and he was on almost the exact same timetable as me.

Alright. You dropped yours off a few hours ahead of me, so where's MY brand spankin' new status? Huh?y5e06 wrote:On the Way!
Logged in yesterday afternoon and no changes. checked today (saturday) and app is complete!
Thats 89 days from when DPS received my packet.
No calling, writing, complaining, or otherwise. I just let it ride to see how it worked out.
All I did was send ONE email (2 weeks ago) asking for an update, in which I was told that they were "waiting to print" it.
Oh, well, enjoy, and hopefully I'll be dancin' the dance with you soon.

Well... In that case:Allofus123 wrote:Actually this is day 74 for you. As referenced a few posts back your application is considered received the day they receive it completed. Since you apparently had a completed application with no errors the day you delivered your app to DPS that would be the day your 60 day clock started ticking.UpTheIrons wrote:This is day 45, so I guess they 'technically' have 15 more days to get the print and lookover done, but still...

Re: February Applications
Looks like DPS needs a bigger/newer/faster printer. Just got this from Rene M. (after I sent the question on 4/15):
"We are currently awaiting the printing of the license. Thank you for your continued patience"
I don't know if I should laugh or cry, rejoice or be steamed. This is day 45, so I guess they 'technically' have 15 more days to get the print and lookover done, but still...

Re: February Applications
OK. Now it begins to make sense. I didn't realize the 30+60 typo language. But what constitutes 'receipt'? In the mail or in the system? That seems to be where the 'typo' really throws the wrench in the works.Muhr wrote:Not that it actually means much, but the 60 days starts when they recieve the package. But due to an 'unfortunate' phrasing in the law they are technically given until day 90 to tell you yea/nea (and that 90 day limit is getting broken often recently). But it appears that there actually is some improvement happening as some of us over in Januaryland have seen some action. (I am at day 80, expecting delivery early this week, and mine took a couple weeks longer than some who sent in around the same time)Not to rain on your parade (I'll do it anyway ), but you are only 21 days in, not 45. The counting begins on the day your app enters the system, not when they receive it, so you'd start counting from March 6, not February 10.
So April should be a good month for the early/mid Feb folks.

Hope this eases your frustration when April 11 rolls around and you are still "Processing Application."
ETA: BTW, I'm looking at May 8 as day 60 for me, just a few days after your 60 days are up.

Re: February Applications
Woo Hoo! Finally some movement! Received my PIN today, 5 weeks to the day from application dropoff. The dreaded "Processing Application" screen has now appeared for me.
Shall I now start the 60 day countdown clock?
May 8 is 60 total days from the date of the PIN letter.
June 1 is 60 business days from the date of the PIN letter.
Anyone want to place some bets?

Might I suggest a leisurely reading of the Book of Job?Spanky wrote:DPS recieved my packet on feb 12, how long until I recieve my PIN.....I am terrible at being patient.
The standard 'book answer' for your PIN arriving is that it takes 3-4 weeks for your app to enter the system, at which time the magical computer gnomes will generate said PIN, stuff it in an envelope and trust the USPS to deliver it to you in a timely manner so that you can watch your glacial (non-)progress until such time as your app is approved.
Does this help your impatience?
Oh! Welcome to the forum, by the way!

As a clergyman, I have a sense of the term "eternally." Unfortunately, government bureaucracy tends to rival Our Lord in it's long-term view! Still, like you, I hope the right term isn't eternally!knightx wrote:hopefully, the term isn't "eternally"

Re: February Applications
Well, it's ABOUT FRAKKIN' TIME!
Finally! My check has posted to my bank account. Now, It'll only be another 2-3 weeks for my PIN to arrive, I'm sure.
The waiting can now begin in earnest. More earnester. Earnestlyer. Whatever the right term is.

Re: February Applications
You and me both. I dropped mine off at the DPS office on 2/09, got a receipt for my check, and it STILL hasn't been deposited. When I called, the guy said, "The checks go to another building. It should clear soon." Right. I know there was a holiday in there, but 10 business days should be enough, don't you think? Most of the dates I see are 3-6 days between receipt and deposit.Sargergp wrote:I'm about ready to start calling somebody. It's been 14 days since they received my packet and they haven't even deposited the check yet, which I'm assuming must clear before they'll even think about doing anything else with the packet.
