We had the same problems when I took the class. 2 or 3 guys that thought they had to constantly comment or ask a question or whatever. Whenever you get a large group of folks together in this type of environment there are always some that feel they need YOU to know how smart they are (or aren't). The 2 women that did the "fill out the forms" segment, need to narrow their talk into a concise format. Too manytexasjeep44 wrote:Texas1234,
I do recall them basically telling people to shut up and quit talking amongst themselves before the presentation was finished. I do recall them getting a bit flustered when people asked the same question that was just asked or when material was just covered.
I do think some folks ask questions just to hear themselves talk, or they aren't paying attention to what the heck is going on in the class.
Heck some of the stuff being asked makes me mad. This stuff ain't rocket science, most of it we should already know if we are sitting in the class.
pauses, ah's, um's etc allow unnecessary comments and topic derailments. Trying to scold a room full of grown men (and a few women) like you would school children doesn't work. At the end of class, they will give you an evaluation sheet with space for comments. Fill it out and let them know what you liked or did not like.
