Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL
Seems there's some dispute over whether or not the girlfriend is actually pregnant. I could see a breakup leading to a false pregnancy claim, leading to an admission of said false claim, leading to "my girlfriend is crazy". Not saying it's right or that he gets a free pass if he was indeed pointing around a shotgun, but it's still too early to tell.

Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL
My roommate recently got one... I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but it feels awesome to hold. Pumping it is a little weird at first though.philip964 wrote:Shotgun looks awesome. Is it?Fangs wrote:I might have missed it, but haven't seen this story posted yet:

Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL
A couple different people have posted saying that the SUV was on fire, but I haven't seen it in any of the news articles. Am I just missing it? Or are most of them leaving that detail out?philip964 wrote:Family of four pulled from overturned Ford Explorer that burned.

Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL
How random... what are the chances?
I think Juror B37 nailed it when she said she believed Zimmerman's heart was in the right place, but he just got in over his head.
Still wouldn't mind having him as a neighbor.

Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL
I think you're close there, but here's my understanding of the actual events according to MSNBC:03Lightningrocks wrote:Maybe we all misunderstood. LITTLE TRAYTRAY was on his way to church. He was looking for someone to take with him. He was going to use his burglary tools to save some poor starving orphans who had been locked out of the small place they all slept every night. I bet TRAYTRAY was actually taking those drugs off the street, he was pictured with on FB, so other teens couldn't be harmed by them. The gold grille he wore in the picture was his retainer so that when he attended seminary school next year his teeth would all be straight. He was probably on his way to return the stolen jewelry his school found in his back pack.Bullitt wrote:You ridiculously found the law for me and even posted it! I know, embarrassing for you, eh?RottenApple wrote:So why don't you actually find a law, in any state, where the mere act of following someone (w/o additional elements) is a crime. You made the assertion. Prove it.
It is ashame. The world has one less thug to worry about as he progresses up the ranks from common thug to cold blooded killer.
>8th grader Trayvon Martin is walking home with snacks for homeless children wearing his graduation cap and gown.
>Aryan Nation member George Zimmerman is patrolling the neighborhood in his confederate flag draped pickup truck.
>Zimmerman spots Trayvon through the dark, rainy night by the glow of his halo.
>The clansman gives chase, hopping the curb with the pedal to the metal.
>The football star nearly outruns his pursuer, but is trapped by a "Do Not Enter" sign.
>Faced with a choice between certain death or breaking the law, the little hero makes his stand.
>Trayvon attempts to reason with his attacker, but the illiterate racist will have none of it.
>Zimmerman steps out of his gas guzzler and asks, "Any final wishes?"
>Trayvon looks his executioner in the eye and replies, "World peace."
>"WHITE POWER!" Exclaims Zimmerman as he unloads with his fully-automatic assault rifle.
>If not for the Republican party, angel Trayvon might have survived, but the murderer's extended magazine, unfettered by reasonable legislation, feeds hundreds of rounds into the probable future Nobel Peace Prize recipient.
>Zimmerman then bashes his own head into the pavement repeatedly while screaming, "Help me! Help me!"
>When he's finished, Hitler himself steps back into his environment destroying vehicle.
>As Trayvon lays dying, the last thing he sees is the McCain/Palin 2012 bumper sticker disappearing into the night.
Yup, don't think I missed anything.

One of my very liberal friends posted this on my Facebook news feed. I asked if that meant less Trayvon Martins.

Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL
Who's responsible for Trayvon Martin not being here to give his side of the story?
Uh... TRAYVON MARTIN, because he chose to attack someone.

Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL
I believe the defense will tear the prosecution to shreds tomorrow. There are some glaring instances of the state basically saying, "We have no idea how this couldn't be Trayvon's fault, so we're going to say anything we can to make it look like Zimmerman might have done something, anything, wrong."
A noticeable one was where the prosecutor said that Trayvon might have been trying to stop Zimmerman from shooting him by grabbing the gun, and that's what John Good saw instead of T pounding Z's head into the concrete. Not 5 minutes later, he brings up how there was none of T's DNA on the gun, and that goes against Z's friend's testimony that T grabbed the gun.
Is it too hard to pick one or the other?

Poll on http://www.wildabouttrial.com, bottom right:
Not Guilty - 66%
Guilty - Manslaughter - 29%
Guilty - Second Degree Murder - 5%
I don't think there's anything preventing you from voting twice, so I can't say how accurate it is.

Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL
I missed a small part at the beginning of the defense's turn with the DNA lab witness. Please tell me that they caught the results of the DNA test of Trayvon's left hand fingernails that didn't test positive for even his own DNA.
I could be misunderstanding something, but it appeared to me that when the prosecution was talking about the right hand fingernail DNA test, it said on the screen that there was no DNA other than Trayvon's. Then they kinda glossed over the left hand, but on the screen it said no DNA at all.
I would think that would prove that lack of DNA evidence doesn't mean that it wasn't there, since Trayvon would most likely have his own DNA all over his own fingernails.

Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL
I keep expecting the prosecution to hit the witnesses with a zinger-type question before handing them over to the defense, and I keep being pleasantly surprised.
