Re: Not a Good LEO Encounter

Time to eat some crow here. It turns out this guy is a liar of the highest order, I found this out the hard way, I won't go into that, but suffice to say he can't be trusted at all. I found out the reason he was arrested was he had weed in his truck and the guns were found after they searched his vehicle. He's lucky they didn't keep his truck, but since it was a company truck, he would've lost his job earlier (he was fired last year for basically lying about everything). I'm really sorry I posted this on his word, I should know better.

Re: Not a Good LEO Encounter

Now look what you've done, you've incurred the wrath of the Moderator! :nono:

All anyone has to do is PM me, so far I've responded to 10 folks, usually within an hour. If my friend says it's ok to post, I will, but only if he says so.

+1

Just post the dang city.
I was asked not to and I'm not, but I wanted to give anyone who wants to know a chance. Do you know a better way?

Re: Not a Good LEO Encounter

I know he's just glad to get this behind him, I know I would be. I guess it could happen anywhere, depending on the LEO.

which city?
I'll only give it out by PM (I'm not sure how that's any different than just posting it, but I wanted those who live near there to know and it's the only way I could think of not to post the name).

Tireshed, do you know of any of the details of things discussed? What the DA wanted and the law seem to be at odds with each other. I don't understand how your friend was unable to get his weapons back. I'm very sorry for your friend, but I'm also curious if something like this were to ever happen to me.
He's not one of my close friends so I don't think I'll ever know the intimate details. All he said was the DA wanted the guns for some sort of recognition and wouldn't drop the charges if he wanted to go any further and he wanted to get it behind him. Sorry I don't have more info or details but I'm sure there were some closed door discussions.

Re: Not a Good LEO Encounter

As he was driving to his court date Friday and was half way there, his lawyer called and told him it had been rescheduled, or he could opt to lose the guns and they would drop all charges and he could apply for his CHL (he took the class the weekend before he got arrested but never sent it in). He wants his guns and it's still up in the air, new date is late October, but it'll probably be rescheduled again.

Re: Not a Good LEO Encounter

Hey guys, I appreciate the posts, I personally can't wait to name the town and would love to hear if any others have had trouble there. I never thought any of your posts were inappropriate, it's always good to hear others POV. I hope it's over soon and so does my friend.

Agreed.
Ok, don't discuss it anymore, I said I would post the town name when it's all over, then the posts can restart. He doesn't want anything, and that includes hate mail, to sway the DA. Also, what if someone from there got wind of this thread and decided to make an example out of him? I respect his request to hold it until the papers are signed.

Re: Not a Good LEO Encounter

He went to court last week, prosecution again offered to drop all charges but keep the guns, he refused and has filed something to the effect he wants the guns back and all charges dropped. It's up to the DA now and it may take weeks. I'll post the city soon.

Re: Not a Good LEO Encounter

I just asked again where this was, he doesn't want it to get out till all charges are dropped (that's the route he's going), but as soon as it's done I'll post. I've never heard of this town either. Thanks for all the comments, but I think I'd do the same thing, get it behind me and spread the word after the fact and never go near there again.

Re: Not a Good LEO Encounter

I want to know too, I travel in the area several times a year, I've asked, he hasn't answered, if he volunteers it in the future I'll post, but it's his business and I'm not pushing.
