This is incorrect.

Most muni airports are NOT secure areas.

In fact, you should be able to go to the General Avaition area of DFW and get on a Piper Warrior and carry. (I have not done this in DFW or DAL, but you should be able to.)

You can legally carry on a general aviation aircraft as long as the PIC (Pilot in command) says it's ok.

In fact, I was in Denton that saturday with a coworker, getting a ride in his plane before the airshow...
