Re: Ft. Worth Gun Show
Just asking, have you ever been to a gun show in DFW? I haven't been to a single one that isn't 30.06 with officers zip-tying all firearms upon entry. There's no metal detector so really, it's an honor based system. To answer your question, yeah they're posted. You can take yours inside but you'll ...

Ft. Worth Gun Show
I'm planning on heading up to Ft. Worth on Sunday for the gun show. Does anybody know if they are posted? I drive a soft top Jeep so if they are I'd have to leave my daily carry at home Cant lock it up secure enough in the Jeep

Chandler's in Vally Mills
Does anybody go to Chandler's in Valley Mills? I've been wanting to go check it out. Usually go to Webber's in Troy but sick and tired of going down I-35. How is the store? Do they stock much? Do they have enough firing lines or do people end up having to wait on each other? What do you think of how...

Re: Hand crank windows
There is a reason for almost everything we say or do on a stop. Many of them have multiple reasons. Some are just habits we get into, some just plain curiosity or trying to be friendly in return to a corporative respectful person. Keep in mind not every officer thinks the same way, was trained the s...

Re: Hand crank windows
I will say that JeepGuy's reason is one of the many reasons. Even during the day people (namely impaired drivers) seem to get "target fixation" on us, our partol cars and all the pretty lights. Many Officers have been killed, badly injured and very close calls due to passing traffic colidi...

Re: Hand crank windows
Why would the LEO approach from the passenger side even if there's only one visible person in the vehicle? That doesn't strike me as a good tactical move. There are many tactical advantages of the pass side vs. the driver's side. The same is true the other way. It will completely depend on all know...

Re: Forgot to show LEO my CHL
I have stopped many people who don't hand over their CHL or mention it when I ask for their ID. Doesn't bother me one bit, I'll still find out. And yes, it comes up plain as day when I run your DL. Depending on the situation I may or may not ask if you are armed when I go back to your vehicle. I was...

Re: Hand crank windows
I'll give my insite as an LEO. I have encountered this more often than you would think with how popular electric windows are nowdays and have seen quite a few ways people handle this. First off, if I'm behind you (stopped or still moving) and you lean over to the pass side my imediate thoughts are y...

Re: Going to Big Bend to camp
I went to Big Bend a couple years ago with a friend. We got there just after midnight. I parked my truck in a way that would let us use the headlights to set up the tent. I locked my Glock in the truck as we drank some beer then slept it off. I got woke up in the morning by a ranger. I steped out of...

Re: Bad things happen fast, and training pays
Game Warden called yesterday to tell me "That coyote wasnt rabid, just dumb". I laughed and he said the same thing, that it's probably been hunting that feeder and assumed I was something to eat. That dude was fully dedicated to getting me no matter what I was by the way he was moving.

Re: Bad things happen fast, and training pays
you drew your weapon and used it and on the same day are posting about it! Wait until the attorney that the coyote's family hires gets a hold of you! "He was a good coyote. He was only coming over to say hi and see if you had a treat for him." Seriously, great job. "rlol" That's...

Re: Hornady Zombie Max Ammo...No, Really.
My wife is into all the zombie hype. She actually offered to buy me some so she could have the box. Then I reminded her about her other friends who are zombie freaks......walked out of the store with 3 boxes! Bullets for me, boxes for her...aint gunna complain about that. First time I can remember c...

He actually appeared to be very healthy, however I'm no doctor. Wild animals (and domestic for that matter) do some odd things, no telling what's going on in their little heads. At this point I'm just glad that an animal acting as violent as this one will not be around myself, my family or my animals.
