A pattern here seems to be that in almost every case, there were other criminal acts committed in addition to the dog slayings. [Shooting from a vehicle, shooting into a neighbor's property, pointing a gun at a person, discharging a firearm in a prohibited area, etc]

I'll be curious to know if there are any plain vanilla cases where someone gets convicted of dog killing with no other charges added. i.e. the guy on his own property shoots a dog that is also on his own property, in an area where shooting firearms is perfectly legal.
