Re: CAMPUS CARRY: TIME CRITICAL ACTION ITEM!
It's there, along with 184 other bills awaiting a second reading, not to mention the numerous other items on the agenda. I don't think it's been recommended for local calender yet. If you look at the agenda for today some bill are notated with (CS) and others are noted with (LC). I'm not sure but I ...

Re: Is campus carry dead?
I just had my wife call members of both committees. She's a professor and fully support campus carry and her right to protect herself when she leaves campus often very late in the evening. One of the senators aides indicated that the State Affairs committee was waiting for this to get through he hou...

Re: Campus-Carry Bills are dying!!!
Called all except: Vice Chair: Rep. Eddie Lucio III (512) 463-0606
His phone went straight to voice mail and the voice mail box was full.
All took my name, some took my phone or address and indicated that my support for these bills were duly noted.

Re: Brady Bunch moves to influence 2 reps on campus carry
Based on Representative King's comments during the hearing, it sounds to me as if he's considering the possibility that the bill should be amended to only prevent schools from restricting licensed concealed carry in parking lots. Surely Rep. King must know that it is already law that these schools ...

Re: Brady Bunch moves to influence 2 reps on campus carry
Based on his comments and questions during the hearing it also appeared as though he was considering campus carry as an option only for faculty and staff. I believe his line of comments and questions indicated that faculty and staff are often forced to stay late (teaching night classes etc..) and th...

Re: Carrying at an INS checkpoint
Absent any reasonable suspicion of wrong doing, I believe they can only ask about your citizenship status. Every since SCOTUS ruled on UNITED STATES v. MARTINEZ-FUERTE (1976) these checkpoint have proliferated. They now go beyond INS asking about citizenship; do some research any you will find many ...

Re: Urgent Action Items: Parking lots & campus-carry
I have emailed and written letters sent to both Senator Seliger and Representative Smithee concerning these bills. No reply from either (although I'm not really expecting one). Senator Seliger has signed on to the campus bill but not the parking lot and Rep. Smithee has not signed on to either. If ...

Re: Kevin Brady, John Cornyn
We sure don't want the possibility of the Dems having a filibuster proof majority in the US Senate. This should be reason enough to keep Republicans in office, even if you disagree with John Cornyn's vote on the bail-out. There are some polling numbers that suggest the dems could win enough Senate s...
