Sorry to hear of your trouble, but at least you will actually get what you sent to Kel-Tec.
You don't want to hear my "Kel-Tec/UPS" fiasco!
Suffice it to say: Kel-Tec will NEVER have my business again...EVER!
Hope it works out for you.

I shoot it every other month to make sure it is good to go and get a good bath. The day I bought it I ran 150 rounds though it without a hiccup.
Has been nothing but great for me. And I know all you old timers will get all huffy, But this Armalaser is something else. Always spot on, every trip to the range.
My main tip for anyone looking to get one. Get a finger extension ASAP. And its not a range gun, don't treat it like one.
Got no problem with laser sighting devices, never have.
About 10 years ago Bill Wilson and Ken Hackathorn teamed up to make a few tactical VHS tapes. On one of the tapes they clearly denounced the use of lasers, but to their credit....both have changed their view of them today.
So, even us "Old Dogs" can learn (if we want to) a new trick or two.

But the P40 was dropped due to the numerous returns when there was nothing wrong with the pistol.
It appears to be a very difficult pistol to control to the point that it will function reliably.
Sort of a limp wristing problem to the Nth degree.
No personal experience here, just read many, many KTOG posts.
There were also numerous returns because there WAS something wrong with them. Mine was one of them. And I promise you, I wasn't "limp wristing".
After giving Kel-Tec two tries at fixing it, I finally gave up, sent it to Jack Fuselier (who DOES know) how to fix them....and never had another problem with it.
I had big time problems with Kel-Tec (the company) shortly thereafter, but thats another story.

If its going to be your primary gun, then at least do "full" fluff and buff on it.

I'd recommend a steel guide rod, and then replace every polymer pin with steel (where available).
Good luck with it.
