Re: Great Wolf Lodge Grapevine, TX 30.06 Posted

I applaud anyone writing to them. Personally I would have left out this section: "It is clear there is not an increased safety risk by allowing concealed handguns, quite the contrary. We are trained to handle our weapons. The perceived risk is unfounded…a false sense of security. We inherently ...

Re: Best Way to carry iwb durring the summer

I tend to wear my belt pretty tight, not uncomfortably so, but snug. But I also carry guns that are a bit on the heavy side. If you were to carry a lighter gun, then I would imagine that you would not need it as snug for it to stay in place. But for the best concealment you want the gun to stay put ...

Re: Best Way to carry iwb durring the summer

I primarily carry either my Sig P220 carry or my P228 in a VMII under a t-shirt. Both fit in the same holster. I also have a Sig 239 I carry in its VMII sometimes, although not as often as the other two. All 3 conceal without issue. 4 o'clock strong side. I don't buy extra large shirts, just use my ...

Re: Please Suggest A Dependable .22LR Auto Pistol

I wanted a .22 pistol as well and ended up going with a .22 conversion for my Sig 226. It was just under $300. I like it because I have the same trigger pull and feel for one of my self defense firearms, at a much lower cost to shoot. I am going to get one for my 220 as well. There is a lot to be sa...

Re: Game warden when asked for fishing license

Given the highly regulated nature of hunting and the corresponding reduced expectation of privacy of hunters in their gear and their take from hunting, we find it is reasonable to detain hunters briefly, near hunting areas during hunting season, to inspect their licenses, tags, equipment, and any w...

Re: Game warden when asked for fishing license

I had originally asked the second question about the gun not being on my person, and in a sealed bag for the legality of having it with me. I know that you can have a gun in your car anywhere if you have a CHL, and I think even without one now with the somewhat recent law. But if you are outside of ...

Re: Game warden when asked for fishing license

Yeah, but were you fishing? Did you have rods & reels clearly visible? Maybe you were just enjoying the cool breeze on the water. This is one thing not mentioned. If you were fishing, or had fishing gear available, I would understand their asking for your fishing license. Otherwise, no. Yes we ...

Re: Game warden when asked for fishing license

This was on the Brazos river, just down from the Possum Kingdom dam. So not COE property, I have carried at Possum Kingdom state park many times. I am glad you posted the actual code: Sec. 411.205. DISPLAYING LICENSE; PENALTY. (a) If a license holder is carrying a handgun on or about the license hol...

Re: Game warden when asked for fishing license

Does asking for a fishing license constitute asking for ID? IIRC, hunting and fishing licenses are technically not valid unless accompanied by a valid photo ID, so yes, it would. None of us were asked for a photo ID, they just asked for a fishing license. Had they asked for a photo ID as well, that...

Game warden when asked for fishing license

So say you are on a canoe trip going down the river. You have a CHL, and there is a pistol in your waterproof clothes bag as you pass by a checkpoint. They wave you over and ask to see your fishing license. You give them your fishing license, they look at it and say have a nice day. You get back in ...

Re: This was never going to happen to me.....

I carry either a Sig 239 in a Milt Sparks VM2, or a Sig P220 in a Milt Sparks VM2. I'm 6'3", 200 lbs and have no problems wearing athletic fitting T-shirts while carrying. I have several friends that also carry and they have asked me if I was carrying on numerous occasions. Pretty good endorsem...
