Thanks to all who have shared their thoughts. I have plenty of time to digest and do some thinking.
If I get lucky and hit the lottery I can have the best of both worlds!

There are other Semi-Custom and Custom builders and in most cases you get what you pay for.

The cost of a Full Custom (not Semi-Custom) is quite high and if you got one of those built you probably would not want to shoot it! I know I wouldn't.

Is that not the purpose of life insurance? In any event, if you want financial advice, I suggest speaking with a qualified professional who knows your goals, your assets, your income, et cetera. However, even they won't guarantee the future market value of your cars or guns. Heck, look at some of the people who were counting on their home as an investment.

I have insurance, this is just an extra nest egg..

That is what I am trying to figure out. I seem to think that quality guns will hold there value and increase in value more so than a 93 Vett. I am looking at around a 10K figure on the Vette, so with that much to put down on some quality firearms ..... Now the next question would be what type?? Wilson new or used, old pre 1900 Winchester rifles, etc. etc. Garands.....????

The old Gal still runs good, but only about 308 hp to the rear with the Corsa exhaust. I just drive her like an old grandpa. Slow and steady wins the race!

Maybe think about taking a once in a lifetime trip to gunsite, blackwater, thunder ranch, etc.

That is a great ideal! I would love to do that and it sure would be fun, but I would want my family to get the funds if something ever happened to me.

I have been thinking about either trading my Corvette for some nice firearms, or just selling the Vette and buying them. I bought the Vette,a beautiful 93 with 62000 miles on it. It sits in my garage and get's driven about twice a month. I thought it would be a good hedge against inflation and a fun toy.
My question and some needed advice: Would it be better to hold on to the Vette or add to my gun collection?
Again this is for a long term investment. Thanks in advance for the advice and suggestions.
