"Jacqueline Morris doesn’t believe her son had to die. She wants justice for him."
A literal interpretation of "mama's" statement is "I want money from someone" It's the same worn out old entitlement issue. Hand out has been demanded. No wonder the punk turned out the way he did.

To answer the earlier question "What would you have done?"

Yes, I would have shot through the glass. No, I would not have waited for the punk to actually make entry. No, I would not enjoy doing what had to be done.

The shot did not come until the second raising of the blinds, and the hardened criminal, regardless of age, was still persisting in his effort to enter the house even after knowing that the home was occupied. He obviously felt the man was no match for him and his crowbar and that he could get in, take the man out, grab the goodies and be gone before the cops actually showed up. Blame momma, blame his daddy (if you could find him), blame society, it was still the punk's own free will to do bad things, and he paid the price. How many times had he done this before and gotten away with it? Many thousands of others (me included) grew up in an unhappy house and in poverty. It does not have to follow into adulthood, not in this country. It was the punk's choice to be what he turned out to be. Good riddance.
